Abstract: A box spring (9) having a rigid perimeter wall (16) to provide a firm foundation to support an edge of a mattress (1) where individuals normally sit. A layer of coil springs (20) rests on a center portion (2) of the box spring and extends above the rigid perimeter wall to provide active support to a center portion of the mattress where individuals normally lie.
Abstract: A seating product comprising a plurality of sinuous spring assemblies secured at opposite ends to a frame. Each of the sinuous spring assemblies comprises length of webbing having a pair of opposed end portions which are secured to the frame and a sinuous spring. The length of webbing is intertwined with the sinuous spring. The sinuous spring is secured at opposite ends to the length of webbing. Padding and an upholstered covering complete the seating product.
Abstract: A seating suspension assembly provides efficiency in the manufacture of upholstered furniture such as chairs, sofas or the like. The preferred form of the invention comprises a pair of flexible, durable fabric straps having coil springs fixedly positioned therebetween. The fabric can be attached to a rigid wooden chair seat frame and the suspension assembly stapled or tacked thereto. The coil springs are thus suspended between the front and back of the frame. Upon upholstering, the suspension assembly provides a comfortable, crowned seat for the user. A method of forming the seating suspension assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: Oriented net furniture support materials made from thermoplastic elastomers have been found to possess a unique combination of properties including high strength, low creep and good flexibility. These furniture support materials can be made by extrusion through a pair of concentric die sets rotating transversely to one another or by weaving of monofilament.
Abstract: Oriented woven furniture support materials made in part from elastomer monofilament and in part from yarn have been found to possess a unique combination of properties including high strength, low creep and good flexibility. These furniture support materials can be made by weaving of the elastomer in a first direction and the yarn in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction followed by heat-setting of the woven material.
Abstract: A spring construction for use as an inner spring for a mattress or cushion. The spring is in the form of helical core including concave and convex side portions which when placed in adjacent rows overlap and intermesh to provide firm support for a body and aid in preventing sag and collapse of any individual spring.
Abstract: A bedstead is provided lending itself to incorporation with a decorative divan base or the like plinth, with or without drawers the plinth base having a rectangular ledge supporting a T-sectioned frame whose outwardly extended leg is supported on the ledge inwardly of which the mattress springs are thereby supported in one embodiment a longitudinal support member dividing the mattress support frame into two parts for facilitating transport and avoiding any tendency for two occupants to roll together when they do not wish to and permitting increased firmness for one of the occupants.
