Abstract: The present invention provides for a hurdle having an upright position and a collapsed position, the hurdle comprises a crossbar and a pair of legs pivotally connected to the crossbar. Each leg has a proximal end and a distal end where the proximal end is pivotally connected to the crossbar end and the distal end is for placement on an exercising surface. The distal ends of the legs can be rotated away from the bottom surface of the crossbar in an expanded upright position. In an upright position the hurdle provides height relative to the exercise surface which can be adjusted by a pivot angle between the crossbar and legs. When the hurdle is in a collapsed position the legs are substantially parallel to the crossbar. In another embodiment the crossbar of the hurdle can be used as a rung in an exercise agility ladder.

Abstract: A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.

At least one adjustable leg connector is mounted on one of the members. The leg connector includes a generally inverted U-shaped strap that extends over the member and an extension that extends downwardly from the U-shaped strap and includes an opening for receiving an upper portion of a leg. The upper portion of a leg is inserted into the opening of the extension, and the leg and extension are secured together by a bolt and nut assembly. By tightening the bolt the inverted U-shaped strap is closed around the member. When the bolt assembly assumes a loosened state, the inverted U-shaped strap along with the attached leg can be moved along the length of the member.

  • Patent number: 6477726
Abstract: Pivotal mattress support comprises a pair of pivotal longitudinal members for replacing conventional wooden slats. The terminal ends of each longitudinal member includes a thin flange for attachment to the side rails of a conventional bed frame to allow a mattress to rest substantially flush on the cleat of the side rail. In one embodiment an extendable leg provides additional support for the slats. Legs are included with the support and the height of the legs can be adjusted by hand while mounted to the mattress support. The method of use consists of pivoting the longitudinal members of the mattress support to accommodate the particular width of the side rails of a selected bed frame.

  • Patent number: 6397412
Abstract: A bed frame constructed by assembly of rail members with universal caster mounts at points of intersection of the rails, where ends of the rail members are integrally connected to the universal caster mounts without any bracketry or parts attached to the ends of the rail members. The universal caster mounts have a top wall for connection to a rail member, a side wall, and a caster shank receiving ferrule. A slot in the top wall receives a portion of an end of a rail member for direct connection of the rail member to the caster mount. A portion of the end of the rail member engaged in the slot rests upon the top wall, flush with the portion of another rail member attached to the top wall, to provide a truly flush support surface for a mattress box spring. Different frame designs, and a low profile caster mount are also disclosed.
