Abstract: A therapy mat table has an upper surface and removable mat. A portion of the mat and a separate plate is rotatably mounted within the flat top so as to be capable of being selectively raised and lowered to form a seat back for a patient reclining or sitting on the pad on an elongated side edge of the table. The table may also include transfer bars which help to move a patient on and off the table or when moving to a standing position or while simply standing. The table may further include a stowable foot stop, which prevents backward movement of the patient's feet when the patient is standing between the transfer bars. The table may also include a knee blocker, which helps to limit or prevent buckling of the patient's knees when the patient is standing between the transfer bars.

Abstract: An articulated patient support apparatus includes upper and lower body support frames hinged together to form a patient support assembly which is hinged to head and foot end supports. One end of the assembly includes a length compensator to enable hinged angulation between the body support frames. Hinge motors are connected between the frames to cause hinged articulation therebetween. One or both of the body support frames has a body slide assembly mounted thereon to enable part of a patient's body to move linearly along the particular body support frame by operation of a slide motor to compensate for hinged articulation of the frames. The hinge motors and slide motor have encoders interfaced to a controller to digitally coordinate sliding movement with hinging articulation.

Abstract: An adjustable foldable bed frame comprises an outer assembly having a body section and a leg section. Each section has a substantially rectangular periphery with an opening and is pivotally coupled together by a pair of first coupling members for movement between an open configuration whereby the sections are co-planar, and a closed configuration whereby the sections are parallel with each other. An inner assembly having a body component and a leg component are positioned within the opening of the body section and the leg section, respectively. The body component comprises a torso portion which is independently adjustable from a flat configuration to a plurality of reclined configurations. The leg component comprises a calf portion which is independently adjustable from a flat configuration to a plurality of elevated configurations. A connecting bracket assembly fixedly couples adjacent adjustable foldable bed frames such that adjacent torso and calf portions are adjustable together.

  • Patent number: 8584281
Abstract: A surgery table utilizing first and second hinged supports that form a frame supporting a patient. First and second connectors hold the first and second supports to first and second piers. Each pier is formed with a base with a linked positioning mechanism for each connector and support member. Each positioning mechanism utilizes a column and a first arm having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The first arm proximal portion is axially rotatable relative to the first column. The second arm possesses a proximal portion and a distal portion such that the second arm proximal portion is axially rotatable relative to the distal portion of the first arm. The second arm distal portion links to the frame connector. A controller determines the axial rotation of the proximal portions of the first and second arms to determine an overall configuration of the frame.

The patient support surface includes a back section, a seat section, and foot section that articulate relative to each other. The patient support surface translates from a bed configuration to a side-egress chair configuration. The foot section includes a plurality of panels that translate relative to each other from a substantially co-planar relationship when the patient support surface is in a bed configuration to a relationship where one of the foot section panels is substantially orthogonal to another foot section panel when the patient support surface is in a chair configuration. A mattress supported by the patient support surface has a retractable foot portion that adjusts its length in response to translation of the foot section panels.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for an adjustable bed. The bed includes a frame mounted to a subframe. The frame is movable length-wise with respect to the subframe. The subframe includes a head lift, a foot lift, or both a head lift and a foot lift, for adjusting a vertical position of the frame with respect to the subframe. When wheels of the frame mount the head lift, the foot lift, or both, the frame assumes an orientation that is inclined with respect to the subframe. The orientation may be inclined positively, inclined negatively or inclined flat with respect to the subframe. Using the lifts, the bed may assume a zero-gravity inclination, in which the user's heart is at the same level as the user's feet. An actuator and controls may be used to adjust a position of the frame.
