  • Patent number: 11878219
Abstract: A vertical jump system is described herein. The system includes a first member and a second member each having a member base that sits under a flooring, a flexible cord that extends between the first member and the second member at a desired height, fixtures coupled to the flexible cord along the first member and the second member. The flexible cord remains at the desired height when contacted. The fixtures are slidable along the first member and the second member and adjust the height of the flexible cord. This configuration allows a user to easily adjust the height of the vertical jump for training, athletics, and competition, without the cord or system components dislodging and causing injury to the user.

  • Patent number: 10729607
Abstract: A patient support structure includes a pair of independently height-adjustable supports, each connected to a patient support. The supports may be independently raised, lowered, rolled or tilted about a longitudinal axis, laterally shifted and angled upwardly or downwardly. Position sensors are provided to sense all of the foregoing movements. The sensors communicate data to a computer for coordinated adjustment and maintenance of the inboard ends of the patient supports in an approximated position during such movements. A longitudinal translator provides for compensation in the length of the structure when the supports are angled upwardly or downwardly. A patient trunk translator provides coordinated translational movement of the patient's upper body along the respective patient support in a caudad or cephalad direction as the patient supports are angled upwardly or downwardly for maintaining proper spinal biomechanics and avoiding undue spinal traction or compression.

Abstract: A system including a support panel and a fixation device for use in radiation therapy is disclosed. The support panel comprises a generally planar member that is arranged to be disposed adjacent an apparatus for producing a radiation beam to support a portion of the patient to which the radiation beam will be directed. The fixation device is arranged to be releasably secured to the support panel to hold the portion of the patient's body at a desired position. The fixation device includes attachment components which enable the releasable securement of the fixation device to the support panel without creating any attenuation discontinuities of a radiation beam passing therethrough.

Abstract: This application relates to operating tables and accessories designed to facilitate surgical procedures on a limb, especially, but not exclusively, orthopaedic procedures involving the distraction, dislocation or replacement of a joint. A such accessory includes a table-mounted component (200) including a patient support (103) and a floor-standing component (200) including an articulated limb support beam (205). Cooperating locating features including a notch 118 and guide channels (217) on the two components locate the components relative to each other. They are designed so that with the patient support (103) supporting at least some of the weight of the patient, the articulated limb support beam (205) is properly positioned to support and manipulate the limb. Moreover, they are so configured as to allow the table to be tilted relative to the floor-standing component (200) while continuing to locate the components relative to each other.

Abstract: Method and devices for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers are described in which a portable support assembly may be worn by a bed-stricken individual around particular regions of the body where pressure ulcers tend to form. The portable support assembly may generally include one or more individual fluid filled pods which are enclosed entirely within an inner fluid pad localized along a central portion. Both the one or more pods and inner fluid pad are then enclosed entirely by another layer of fluid within an outer fluid pad which extends over the entire assembly. Each of the fluid layers may be secured to an outer shell which is relatively stiffer than the fluid layers and may restrict or limit the expansion or movement of the fluid pods and/or fluid pads.

Abstract: Described herein are exemplary embodiments of patient positioning systems for supporting and positioning a patient in an inclined position during medical treatment, such as in the Reverse Trendelenburg position. Some embodiments comprise a flexible, air-impermeable shell having a torso portion configured to support the patient's torso and secure the positioner to the support surface, an intermediate portion integrally coupled to an inferior end of the torso portion, and a suprapubic portion integrally coupled to an inferior end of the intermediate portion opposite the torso portion and configured to extend along the patient's perineal-pubic region when the shell is evacuated of air. When evacuated of air, the positioner is configured to hold the patient in an inclined position on an inclined support surface with the patient's head above the patient's hips such that the intermediate and/or suprapubic portions physically block the patient from sliding feet-first down the inclined support surface.
