  • Patent number: 5906967
Abstract: A non-sticking sliding part molding Composition comprising a mixture of a fluororesin and a thermoplastic resin other than fluororesin and a fibrous filler, said mixture and said fibrous filler accounting for 70 to 95 weight % and 5 to 30 weight %, respectively, and said thermoplastic resin other than fluororesin occurring in a proportion of 60 to 100 parts by weight based on t00 parts by weight of said fluororesin. The object is to provide a non-sticking sliding part molding composition which is not only fully possessed of the fundamental properties required of sliding parts but also has a well-balanced assortment of hardness, deflection under load, creep resistance, slidability, moldability, and toner-repellent property, thus surpassing the prior art.

  • Patent number: 5821204
Abstract: A thrust bearing having a sliding surface composed of a resin composition which comprises 10 to 45% by weight of a carbon fiber, 0.1 to 30% by weight of a polytetrafluoroethylene, 0.1 to 20% by weight of a graphite having an oil absorption of 70 to 500 ml/100 g, the balance being substantially an aromatic polyetherketone resin wherein the total content of the carbon fiber, the polytetrafluoroethylene and the graphite is not more than 65% by weight. The sliding surface of the above thrust bearing is excellent in wear resistance and low in friction coefficient at the time of starting.

  • Patent number: 5780396
Abstract: A sliding member excellent in cavitation resistance and friction properties which has a sliding surface composed of a resin composition comprising a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer resin and a polytetrafluoroethylene having a molecular weight of 5,000,000 to 15,000,000 and optionally a solid lubricant, wherein the proportion of the tetrafluoro-ethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer resin is 1 to 50% by volume based on the volume of the resin composition and the proportion of the solid lubricant is 0.5 to 10% by volume based on the volume of the resin composition. The addition of the solid lubricant results in an enhancement of friction properties and the use of an exfoliated graphite as the solid lubricant brings about a further enhancement of friction properties.
