  • Patent number: 10899990
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to provide a lubricating grease composition having a high static friction coefficient while maintaining excellent low-temperature torque characteristics, high-temperature shear stability, and high-temperature oil separation characteristics. A lubricating grease composition of the present disclosure contains a base oil, a thickener, and a solid lubricant, wherein the solid lubricant is calcium carbonate, the amount of the calcium carbonate blended is 1 to 60% by weight based on the total weight of the lubricating grease composition, the calcium carbonate has an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 30 ?m, the base oil has a kinematic viscosity of 18 to 300 mm2/s at 40° C., and the lubricating grease composition has a worked penetration of 240 to 320.

  • Publication number: 20040157751
Abstract: A rubber composition contains an antifoam compound that leaches out of the rubber composition when placed in contact with a functional fluid. The antifoam compound is delivered into a functional fluid such as an automatic transmission fluid or an engine oil by contacting the functional fluid with the rubber composition. In addition to the antifoam compound, the rubber composition contains one or more elastomers, which may be selected from a wide variety of natural or synthetic rubbers. In a preferred embodiment, the elastomer comprises a high temperature elastomer such as acrylic elastomer and ethylene acrylic elastomer.

  • Patent number: 6734147
Abstract: A process is disclosed for manufacturing a lubricant composition comprising combining a superabsorbent polymer with a material for decreasing friction between moving surfaces. The superabsorbent polymer absorbs from about 25 to greater than 100 times its weight in water and may comprise a polymer of acrylic acid, an acrylic ester, acrylonitrile or acrylamide, including co-polymers thereof or starch graft co-polymers thereof or mixtures thereof. A product produced by the process includes the material for decreasing friction comprising a petroleum lubricant containing an additive, water containing an additive, synthetic lubricant, grease, solid lubricant or metal working lubricant, wherein the synthetic lubricant, grease, solid lubricant or metal working lubricant optionally contain an additive. A process comprising controlling the delivery of a lubricant to at least one of two moving surfaces in order to decrease friction between said moving surfaces, is also disclosed.
