The separation indicated in step c) preferably occurs by means of a centrifuge at 2,000 to 3,000 g, especially at 8,000 to 15,000 g.

Abstract: A thermal interface material including a compound which has high thermal conductivity, is dry-to-the-touch, but naturally tacky, and may be formed into various shapes, such as sheets and blocks, to serve as a heat transfer material for electronic components. The compound includes a pre-blend of a polyol ester and an antioxidant, a filler(s), a high viscosity oil, and either a solvent, a surfactant, and a polystyrene-based polymer, or aluminum silicate. A method for using the compound includes the steps of providing a heat generating electronic component with a first surface; providing a heat dissipating component with a second surface with which the first surface is to interface; and disposing the compound between the respective surfaces to effectuate efficient heat transfer therebetween. Further, the compound can be applied alone, e.g.

  • Patent number: 6204225
Abstract: A water-dispersible cooling and lubricating composition effective for use as a metal working fluid or a metal removal fluid. The composition comprises an oil and water emulsion prepared from a pre-emulsion concentrate having a high concentration of crude, degummed vegetable oil which can be combined with esters of such vegetable oil. The metal working fluid composition of the present invention is prepared by mixing the crude vegetable oil with alkyl esters as an antigumming agent, a corrosion inhibitor, a surfactant, a saponifier, a buffer, and a preservative to form a pre-emulsion concentrate. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pre-emulsion concentrate further comprises a fragrance. To form the desired metal working fluid composition of the present invention, the pre-emulsion concentrate is mixed with water to form a stable metal working fluid composition of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5801129
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and device for applying a lubricant-carrier layer to the surface of a material which is to be cold-formed, in particular wire material (1) which is subsequently to be cold-drawn, the carrier layer being such that a lubricant can be applied over it. The material used to produce the layer is applied dry. A container is provided to hold a multiplicity of loose pressure-application elements plus a given quantity of the dry carrier-layer material. To produce the lubricant-carrier layer on the wire material, at least part of which is located at any given time inside the container, the pressure-application elements surrounding the wire material are caused to execute a motion such that they apply the carrier-layer material disposed between them to the surface of the wire material mechanically, the pressure-application elements making uniform contact with the surface of the wire material as they move relative to the surface.
