Abstract: The present invention relating to compositions comprising novel oxazolidine and tetrahydrooxazine amide surfactants and to processes for making the surfactants. These are cyclic surfactants having good solubility and which are readily biodegradable.

Abstract: A post-foaming gel shaving composition is disclosed which contains from about 40 to about 90 percent by weight water; from about 4 to about 25 percent by weight water-soluble soap; from about 0.5 to about 12 percent by weight aliphatic liquid post-foaming agent selected from the group consisting of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons; from about 0.01 to about 5 percent by weight of at least one water-soluble gelling agent forming in said composition a gel having a yield value sufficiently high to restrain said composition from foaming for at least about 60 seconds; and from about 0.1 to about 2 percent by weight of a poly(ethylene oxide) having an average molecular weight of at least 2.times.10.sup.5.

Abstract: A surfactant composition containing a fatty acid polyoxyalkylene lower alkyl ether represented by formula (1):R(OR.sup.1).sub.n OR.sup.2 (1)wherein R represents an alkanoyl or alkenoyl group having from 10 to 18 carbon atoms;R.sup.1 represents an alkylene having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms;R.sup.2 represents a lower alkyl group; andn is from 5 to 100 on the average; and a fatty acid monoglyceride represented by formula (2):R.sup.3 OCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 OH (2)wherein R.sup.3 represents an alkanoyl group having from 8 to 16 carbon atoms or an alkenoyl group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms;are disclosed.The foaming properties of a fatty acid polyoxyalkylene lower alkyl ether of formula (1) are improved by adding a fatty acid monoglyceride represented by formula (2) to the fatty acid polyoxyalkylene lower alkyl ether of formula (1).
Abstract: A detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises polymer particles having an average particle size of 50-500 .mu.m in 5% by weight sodium chloride aqueous solution and a modulus of elasticity of 1.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.5 dyne/cm.sup.2 in said sodium chloride aqueous solution. It exhibits a superior physical or mechanical washing performance, and gives remarkably reduced irritation and minimal damage to the object being washed. When a germicide is incorporated in addition to the polymer particles, its sterilization effect is greatly enhanced.
