When mineral deposits foul the electrolytic plates, water is isolated within the electrolytic chamber and a minimal amount of a pH-reducing agent is added to the electrolytic chamber to remove the mineral deposits. In a first embodiment, the pH-reducing agent is admitted on a periodic timed basis. In a second embodiment, the pH-reducing agent is added when the pH of the main body of water falls below a predetermined threshold. In both embodiments, cleaning is accomplished by adding the pH-reducing agent when the circulation pump is not operating so that the acid dwells within the electrolytic chamber for a sufficient amount of time. Activation of the circulation pump causes the pH-reducing agent to enter the main body of water.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2004Date of Patent: March 24, 2009Assignee: Maytal Tech, Inc.Inventor: Omer C. Patent number: 7425525Abstract: There is proposed a washing solution for washing an inkjet printer head which performs printing by feeding an ink comprising at least two kinds of polymerizable compounds each differing in viscosity, a photopolymerization initiator, and pigment. This washing solution is characterized in that it contains not less than 50 parts by weight of a polymerizable compound selected from the polymerizable compounds included in the ink and having a lowest viscosity among the polymerizable compounds, or not less than 50 parts by weight of a polymerizable compound having a viscosity of 30 mPa·sec or less at ordinary temperature.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2005Date of Patent: September 16, 2008Assignee: Toshiba Tec Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ryozo Akiyama, Toru Ushirogouchi, Mitsuru Ishibashi, Kazuhiko Ohtsu, Masashi Hiroki

Patent number: 7344602Abstract: An improved scale conditioning composition and method is disclosed that results in improved dissolution and disruption of tube scale, hardened sludge and other deposits composed primarily of highly densified magnetite such as those found in heat exchange vessels, particularly steam generators. After treatment with the advanced scale conditioning composition, these magnetite rich deposits are more easily removed using known and commercially available high pressure hydro-mechanical cleaning techniques. The present invention further provides effective cleaning in a short period of time and at relatively low temperatures, while reducing the amount of waste produced and reducing the resulting corrosion of carbon and low alloy steel components within the steam generator during the cleaning process.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2004Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Assignee: Dominion Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Robert D Varrin, Michael W. Patent number: 5236960Abstract: The invention relates to water blown integral skin polyurethane foams made with a particular isocyanate quasi-prepolymer and resin side ingredients to yield a foam having good overall mechanical properties. The isocyanate quasi-prepolymer component of the present invention comprises from 0.5 weight percent to 30.0 weight percent or less uretonimine-carbodiimide-modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate, from 50 weight percent to 80 weight percent 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and reacted with from 15 weight percent to 40 weight percent of a polyether polyol containing predominately secondary hydroxyl groups and having an average molecular weight from about 2,000 to 10,000, an average functionality from 1.5 to about 3.2, and a hydroxyl number from about 20 to 60, and optionally with a low molecular weight diol in an amount of from 1.0 weight percent to 10 weight percent, the weight percentages based on the weight of the quasi-prepolymer reactants.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1993Date of Patent: August 17, 1993Assignee: BASF CorporationInventors: Richard P.
