Abstract: The present invention provides acylalkylisethionate esters useful in consumer products. The acylalkylisethionate esters are produced by reacting one or more carboxylic acids with one or more alkyl-substituted hydroxyalkyl sulfonates under esterification reaction conditions. The alkyl-substituted hydroxyalkyl sulfonates used as a raw material in producing the esters are prepared by reacting bisulfite with one or more alkylene oxides.

Abstract: The invention provides an aqueous bleaching solution for substrate treatment comprising a source of oxidant and a suspended polymer matrix having a plurality of optically functional particles associated with one or more copolymers present in the polymer matrix. The plurality of optically functional particles are associated with the copolymer during polymerization of at least one hydrophobic and at least one hydrophilic monomer so as to form a polymer matrix useful to impart an aqueous bleaching solution with optically functional properties providing a benefit to the solutions during storage, use and application to substrates for treatment.

Abstract: Concentrated hydrogen peroxide solution is utilized for biomass, biofilm and pathogen remediation and/or sterilization, disinfection, sanitizing, cleaning and/or removing soils from spaces or surfaces. Instead of utilizing diluted low concentration and pH slightly acidic to alkaline hydrogen peroxide, the applicant proposes the use of a formulated and concentrated hydrogen peroxide solution with preferably with an acidic pH such as about 3.5 along with low levels of inhibitors and/or the addition of activators such as ozone, iron, etc. Foaming occurs in many instances identifying treatment in progress and an anti-microbial solution can provide long term protection against re-growth.

It also relates to a composition comprising said quaternary ammonium compound and said nonionic surfactant. The cationic surfactant has the formula 10 R2+R (1) N (CH2CH2O)n H X R1 wherein R=C6-C22 alkyl; R1 and R2 are independently a C1-C4 alkyl group; n=8-25; and X— is an anion. The compositions may be used for the cleaning of hard surfaces, for example for vehicle cleaning or machine dishwashing.
