  • Patent number: 6625932
Abstract: The invention in the simplest form is a retractable variable rise arena seating apparatus and method. It employs gravity displacement to facilitate adjusting and setting the various platforms, and uses a single drive motor assembly. The seating platforms can use any type of chair design, and is not limited to narrow profile designs. The seating system can be easily employed with minimum labor and time consumption for multi-purpose arenas.

  • Patent number: 6474024
Abstract: The seating section of a seating system is variable in slope between high riser and low riser positions forward ends of the pivotable treads forming a deck surface overlap confronting ends of adjacent treads, and lever arms maintain the treads substantially level irrespective of inclination of the underlying support beams. The arms are pivotable between angular and upright positions and extend between each of the treads and the beams. The forward ends of the treads are supported on support plates mounted on the support beams in a low riser height position of the seating section, and the lever arms support the forward ends of the treads on the support plates in a high riser position of the seating section.

  • Patent number: 6293053
Abstract: The present invention relates to a power system for extending and retracting a telescopic row seating system, comprising a drum operably anchored to a drum frame, wherein a drum has at least two drum shafts rotatably engaged thereto. Further, it includes a plurality of interconnected drive carriages adapted for connection to a telescopic seating system to extend and retract the telescopic seating system, drive carriages being configured to selectively mateably wind onto and off from the drum as the drum is rotated. The power mechanism comprises a motor, a motor frame, at least two motor shafts extending from each side of the motor. The drive shaft is connected by the plurality of coupling means, a drum shaft one side and a motor shaft on the other providing motion to rotate the drum.

  • Patent number: 6286264
Abstract: A sports field, in particular for team sports such as football, has a playing field (20) which consists of a overing made of grass, granulates or other natural and/or artificial materials, placed on an infrastructure (21), in particular made of earth and/or gravel. Also disclosed is a process for horizontally displacing the sports field (20). To allow such a sports field to be horizontally displaced, the sports field is arranged on a preferably trough-shaped supporting frame (22) substantially made of concrete and/or steel parts, and which can be displaced on sliding pads supported on fixed sliding tracks (23).

  • Patent number: 6199325
Abstract: A power system is provided for extending and retracting a telescopic seating structure. The power system includes a frame, a drum operably mounted on the frame for rotational movement, and a plurality of slidably interconnected telescoping members having a terminal telescoping member operably attached to the telescopic seating structure. A cable is wound about the drum and the plurality of telescoping members. Upon rotation of the drum in a selected direction, a tensional force is exerted upon the telescoping members causing their selective extension or retraction to thereby extend or retract the telescoping seating structure. A control assembly is operably connected to the drum shaft to thereby deactivate the power mechanism when the telescopic seating structure is filly extracted or retracted. A cable guide assembly is positioned below the drum to thereby ensure that the cable is properly wound upon the drum during rotation to thereby assure maximum efficiency of the power system.

  • Patent number: 6003270
Abstract: A seating system having a plurality of seating sections in which the slope of the understructure thereof can be varied, the treads of the seating sections being pivotable to permit the riser height to vary so as to enable a single seating system to provide varying slopes and sight lines depending on the stadium/arena configuration. The treads are pivotable between low riser and high riser positions by the provision of lever arms movable between angular and upright positions and extending between the treads and the beams for supporting the treads in the high riser position on the upper surface of understructure beams. In the low riser position ends of the treads opposite their pivotal ends are supported on an adjacent tread.
