  • Publication number: 20150040489
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rainwater gutter for mounting on a building to collect rainwater from the roof. It is shaped similar to a letter S. The rainwater flows from the roof covering onto the top section of the S shaped curved element, where, due to the contour of the gutter and surface tension will flow down from the upper curved section into the cylindrical section via the opening formed by the bottom section of the S returning to terminate as an open end close to the top section. The small opening also emits daylight thus reducing the possibility of vegetation growing in the gutter. This will reduce expensive and dangerous maintenance of eave gutters. Because the water gathered from the eave of the roof is cleaner it would reduce filtration costs for rainwater harvesting. The gutter can be formed in plastic, aluminium, copper or zinc.

Abstract: A detritus exclusion appliance includes a support that is preferably, but not necessarily, constructed of extruded aluminum and that comprises a screen made of surgical grade stainless steel wire mesh that prevents debris from entering rain gutters. The support is preferably formed of an extruded material that includes one or more upwardly projecting support beams. A center beam may project upwardly beyond beams to either side of it to create a curved profile in which the wire mesh is curved along an axis of the support to slope downwardly on either side of the center beam. This arrangement assists in shedding detritus and debris from the screen.

  • Patent number: 8752341
Abstract: A conventional grounded steel tower, or other structure, supports multiple wires (e.g., 6) carrying multi-phase high voltage electricity (e.g., >100 kV). Each wire is supported by a ceramic insulator connected to a horizontal arm of the structure, where an angled strut helps support the arm. There are usually three tiers of wires. The closest distance between a wire and ground is typically between the wire and an angled strut below the wire, where the angled strut helps support a lower-tier wire. A guard formed of a dielectric is affixed to and covers the lower portion of the steel strut as well as any steel that outward extends beyond the strut. The guard prevents flashover between a wire and the underlying grounded strut if a large bird perches on the guard, since the bird will not be grounded by the strut.

Abstract: A rain gutter screen assembly is fixed in place over a rain gutter system mounted on a building to prevent the entry of debris into the gutter system. The screen assembly has plural gutter screens with each of the gutter screens having a bead of a water phobic substance engaged on its bottom surface with the bead extending to edges of the screen. The screens are arranged in side-by-side positions such that a bead termination of each one of the beads of each one of the gutter screens is in contact with another bead termination of another one of the beads of another one of the gutter screens so that rain water is unable to bridge the screens but is forced to fall into the gutter system.
