Abstract: A multiple crypt or vault burial mausoleum features precast concrete modules each having a horizontal shelf and depending vertical walls to define plural crypts when in stacked relationship with other modules in a multiple level arrangement. Each vertical module wall contains an embedded steel leg structure near the forward and rear quarter points of the module extending from top to bottom thereof. In the multiple tier mausoleum constructed from stacked modules, steel support and bearing legs extend continuously from top to bottom in the structure. Rectangular steel shims are intervened with the embedded legs of each module to render the entire leg structure continuous. The arrangement greatly minimizes settlement normally encountered with shim and grout supports and reduces the binding of shutters dependent on the system for support. The solid block shims can also resist shear stresses caused by lateral forces which grout cannot resist.
Abstract: In an above ground crypt structure, a crypt front or cover slab hanging or supporting arrangement allowing easy installation of the crypt covers and designed when used with a plurality of adjacently disposed crypt covers to allow the outer surfaces of the plurality of crypt covers to define a substantially planar surface.
Abstract: A modular crypt system has adjacent columns comprised of substantially "inverted L" shaped modules, each module having substantially planar vertical and horizontal legs joined at ends thereof to define a corner. A corner reinforcement portion is provided on the inside adjacent surfaces of the legs, together with a notch portion on the outer edge of the vertical leg and adjacent the reinforcement portion. A tongue portion is formed at a free end of the module horizontal leg. The tongue portion of one module is supported in notch portions of an adjacent module. A column of stacked vertical end members is provided adjacent one of the modular columns with each vertical end member having a notch portion at a top end which support the tongue portion of adjacent "inverted L" shaped modules. A building roof is principally supported by the modular columns and end members.
Abstract: The subject matter of the invention is a system for sepulchral urn (post cremation) burial. The system consists of one or more units of building character, where in at least a part of the building elements urn boxes are formed. The building elements are provided on their outer surface with projections and recesses fitting into each other. It is advantageous that the complete unit shall not be necessarily built up at once, but it can be extended according to the current demands. The single urn elements can be produced in aesthetically attractive form, at the same time, however, in mass production.
Abstract: A mausoleum and method of construction utilizing a series of crypt liners, each preformed of two identical components having marginal portions arranged to be sealed together to form an enclosure open at its front end, the crypt liners having laterally extending side tabs perforated to receive fasteners so as to position the crypt liners in predetermined side-by-side relationship on an underlying slab; the crypt liners also including laterally extending front tabs for removable attachment to a casting frame. The crypt liners adapted to be arranged in a row, one unit high on an underlying slab, with their open ends in contact with, and supported by the casting form, whereby concrete may be poured around and over the crypt liners to permanently encase the vault liners and form a second slab for supporting a second row of vault liners, this procedure being repeated until the vault liners form columns of the desired height.
Abstract: A burial facility comprising a rigid burial housing enclosing multiple burial crypts, burial services compartmentation, walk ways and facility maintenance spaces, said housing having a major portion thereof below ground level and a portion thereof above ground level, a frusto-pyramidal earthen mound covering and concealing the portion of said housing above ground level, and a downwardly sloping entryway extending through one side of said frusto-pyramidal earthen mound and communicating through an opening in one side of said housing with the interior thereof.
Abstract: Transparent tubular caskets are closed at one end by a shouldered plug-type cover. Pegs are driven laterally through the transparent wall into aligned holes in the cover. A central evacuating and inert gas filling hole is threaded to receive a pad-eye for lowering the tubular casket into a glass lined vertical concrete vault. The upper edge of the vault is rabbeted to receive a rabbeted concrete cover with centrally recessed decorative identification plate, which covers a threaded pad-eye receiver hole. A plurality of vaults in a honeycomb arrangement have interspaces to receive ashes and pets.
Abstract: This invention relates to a self-contained precast modular burial crypt that is quickly and easily assembled at any situs. Further, the burial crypt is provided with an improved sealing arrangement to maintain an airtight and secure fit between the various modular units.
