    Abstract: Building element having two parallel welded wire grid mats (1, 2), of straight web wires (7) which hold the wire grid mats at a predetermined distance apart and are joined at each end to the two wire grid mats. An insulating body (8) is arranged between the wire grid mats, through which the web wires pass. At least one of the wire grid mats is in the form of a grid reinforcement mat which possesses a minimum strength of the weld nodes which complies with the static requirements applicable to the building element, corresponding mechanical strength of the grid mat wires (3, 4) and also corresponding diameters and mutual spacings of the grid mat wires. The web wires are arranged in predetermined directions relative to the wire grid mats, and the insulating body is held at a predetermined distance from each of the wire grid mats.

Subsequently, concrete (94) is poured into the inner formwork space (93), which concrete attaches firmly to the gravel sticking out of the coating. On a floor (111), a coating layer (121) is applied, over which a layer of PVC-foam plates (122) is applied. Subsequently, a secondary monolithic coating layer (123) is sprayed over those PVC-foam plates (122) and onto the inner surface of the coated PVC-plates 10 of the wall (112).

A plurality of spreaders at each stud location extend between opposing panels and slidably engaging the studs in opposing panels.

Vertical channels are formed adjacent both the inside and outside faces of the insulation layer to remove moisture. This provides the required structural strength with a minimum of thermal conductivity from the warm side to the cold side of the building envelope, while providing exterior drain channels and interior moisture removing channels.

Once the composite wall has been formed, the casting form ties may be pulled out of the wall, leaving the elongate sleeve ties in place. Removal of the casting form ties eliminates the thermal bridges that metal casting form ties would otherwise create. At least a portion of the sleeve tie is formed of a material having a high thermal resistance.

The block includes substantially semi-cylindrical concave portions that form a cross-linked structure of channels when the blocks are assembled into a wall. Once the blocks have been stacked in place in a wall, grout or other suitable filling material is poured into the cross-linked structure of channels. When the filling material hardens, the blocks are locked together. Surficial covering materials may then be nailed, screwed, or stapled directly to the attachment layer.

    Abstract: A concrete sandwich panel is provided with a first dry-cast hollowcore concrete layer having pre-stressing strands, and a second concrete layer, and an insulation layer sandwiched therebetween. Adhesive is injected into the concrete holes, with connectors extending through the insulation layer and into the concrete holes. The adhesive, when cured, locks the connector in the hollowcore concrete layer. The upper concrete layer is cast over the insulation layer so as to embed the upper ends of the connectors. The plasticity of the upper concrete layer, which may result from vibration energy input to low-slump concrete, allows the concrete to consolidate around the upper ends of the connectors. When the concrete layers cure, the connectors tie the layers together to preclude excessive shear displacement between the concrete.

    Abstract: A prefabricated concrete wall panel is described which may have a bottom foundation section, when adapted to be mounted at least partly underground, and a top wall section. The wall panel has an outer concrete panel section and an inner concrete panel section spaced from one another by an insulating foam material adhered to an interior surface of the panel sections. The wall panel has opposed flat parallel side walls and top and bottom end walls. The outer concrete panel section has an exterior finished surface. The concrete wall panel also has connecting pins of predetermined equal length projecting from the bottom end wall to provide for support engagement in holes of predetermined depth formed in a top wall of a footing, a floor or a wall, and which provides automatic leveling and alignment of the panel. A method of fabricating a wall structure using the prefabricated wall panel is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A concrete building panel has a slab and a plurality of ribs and beams. A series of horizontal holes in the end ribs are spaced at a selected constant spacing such that adjacent panels, may be fastened together through them. In one type of panel, the slab is separated from the ribs to provide an air gap. Connections between holes in two adjacent concrete wall panels are made by a hollow conduit having an abutment at either end to engage the concrete wall panels. Other connections between adjacent panels involve a stitch with legs which extend through holes in the beams. Other connections involve a space made by vertical channels of horizontally adjacent panels. A plate fitted into the space aligns the adjacent panels and may extend upwards to align upper panels. Load bearing horizontal holes through the ribs are reinforced with reinforcing bar in the concrete arranged in generally triangular shapes.

    Abstract: A method of forming a composite panel with a facade comprising a planar arrangement of thin discrete facers on a body of structural backing material. The method comprises the steps of providing a horizontal casting bed, providing a plurality of facers each with chamfers at corners between side-rear and end-rear walls, arranging the facers in abutting relationship atop the casting bed and in a selected pattern in a face down planar configuration so that the chamfers on the facers open upwardly and define narrow elongated sealant channels at joints between contiguous facers. Depositing a sealant in the channels and pouring concrete as a structural backing material atop the facers, the rear surfaces of the facers and the concrete adhering to form a composite panel.

    Abstract: A concrete form panel has a plurality of studs. A first and second panel are fastened to the studs to define concrete receiving cavities between the first panel and the second panel. A fastening strip attaches the panels to the stud and is vertically oriented. In addition, a netting may span the studs. An opening extending from panel to panel may create a concrete-to-concrete interface between concrete in the form panel and a concrete footing. A column may be formed in this fashion. Moreover, ports, such as windows and door, may be provided in wall assembly. The assembly may be attached by a truss anchor to a truss for a roof.

    Abstract: A laminate wall structure which can be used as an exterior wall in manufactured housing and site built construction is made up of a low density layer having a density of from about one-half pound to three pounds per cubic foot, a second, reinforcing layer laminated to the low density layer and, optionally, a cellulosic layer laminated to the second, reinforcing layer. The low density layer is preferably a foamed polymer layer, the second, reinforcing layer is a polymer fabric, a biaxially oriented polymeric film or a fiberglass reinforced material and the cellulosic layer can be impregnated with an adhesive and/or resin in order to strengthen the laminate structure. This laminate wall structure has a low weight and yet is strong enough to meet wind zone wall diaphragm requirements for housing construction.

    Abstract: An insulated concrete form panel assembly for constructing insulated concrete walls includes a frame comprising a plurality of steel studs and at least two cross members that connect the studs together. A pair of insulating panels are fastened to and span respective inner and outer opposing sides of the frame so as to define concrete receiving cavities between the panels and the studs. A brick ledge may be constructed by separating a laterally extending, generally rectangular elongated mid portion of the outer insulating panel from a remainder of the outer insulating panel. An upper edge of the mid portion is then moved a predetermined distance outward from the remainder of the outer insulating panel such that the mid portion is disposed in a desired position at an angle to the remainder of the outer insulating panel. The mid portion is then secured in the desired position relative to the frame.

    Abstract: The disclosure sets forth pre-fabricated deck forms and reinforcement bar connectors for light-weight concrete decks on bridges. The three different types of deck forms disclosed provide light-weight and composite concrete decks for bridges, with reinforcement bars, longitudinal beam stiffeners and thin plates, and the longitudinal beam stiffeners, welded to the thin plates. The thin plates are attached to the bottom flanges of the longitudinal beam stiffeners for the first two types, and to the web plates of those stiffeners, for the third type. The bottom portion of the first two types of deck forms disclosed are filled with filler material, such as styrofoam or similar non-metallic material. In one type, the filler material is provided under the concrete slab only proximate the longitudinal beam stiffeners, and the thin plate is corrugated.

    Abstract: A system of building construction comprises prefabricated modules with wall sections having finished paneling on both faces, inner foam panels and spacers made from insulating foam, and a steel-reinforced concrete core. The modules come complete with outer and inner finished panels, as well as inner insulating foam so that no on-site mounting of the panels to the wall module is required. The foam panels and facing panels are attached together with a plurality of coilies or rigid spacers, held together with simple screws to create a complete wall system. Concrete is subsequently poured into the module cores to create a monolithic structure. The Inner-wall and outer wall is already in place and needs only to be decorated as desired. All elements stay in place and no forms or heavy external bracing are needed.
