Demountable Type (e.g., Partition) Patents (Class 52/481.2)
  • Patent number: 11585105
Abstract: A joist for a formwork grid construction component system is disclosed. Typical joists (sometimes referred to as secondary beams) span a distance of approximately six feet (when fully connected). By strengthening the joist using an altered profile while maintaining interoperable external dimensions, the span distance may be increased. That is, by forming the joists with the disclosed profile, joists can be made longer (e.g., have an eight foot connected span) and maintain appropriate strength or even have an increased weight tolerance. Formwork grid systems are used in construction of buildings and other structures. Interoperability with existing components is maintained by the disclosed joist profile adhering to the same external functional form factor as existing joists. The external form factor being the same allows joists constructed in accordance with this disclosure to properly function with existing formwork grid construction components.

  • Patent number: 10352038
Abstract: The present invention is directed to systems and methods for improving the water management of exterior walls clad with panel siding. The present invention improves on prior art wall designs by directing water on the exterior surface of a building away from areas which are vulnerable to water penetration, such as joints between panels, joints between trim components, and locations where fasteners are driven from the exterior. The water management system generally comprises a vertical batten assembly, and in certain embodiments a horizontal joint cover. The water management system is designed to be installed on an outer surface of the exterior wall panels. Thus, the system may be installed without removing and replacing existing siding or covering panels with an entirely new layer of siding. The present invention may also be used on new panel siding installations as a lower cost alternative to other siding systems.

  • Patent number: 8733044
Abstract: The present invention concerns a sectional rail system which is constructed with the known outer rails with U-shaped cross-section and intermediate rails with C-shaped cross-section, and which is peculiar in that each of the retention means of the outer rail includes at least one stop pin which is disposed close to the inner side of the screw web of an outer rail, preferably two stop pins disposed opposite each other close to the inner side of the screw webs of the outer rail, where each stop pin furthermore is provided with a support flange for supporting an end part of the reinforcement web of the intermediate rail. The fastening means of the outer rail may thus include one, two or more stop pins, and one or more resilient lock pins. Hereby may be achieved provision of a tool-free assembly method for the sectional rail system and that by screwing on plate covering close to the edge part of the intermediate rail, it is avoided that the screw web and the associated reinforcement web “capsize”.

  • Patent number: 8074416
Abstract: A joining arrangement is provided for use in the construction of stud frame which includes a releasable attachment/detachment feature. The first member (plate) includes in at least one side wall a formation which, when members are joined, engages a corresponding formation in at least one wall of the second member (stud). The formation, such as a V-shaped protrusion, is/are disposed at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the member and the formation on the second member is disposed generally parallel to its longitudinal axis such that upon engagement of the first and second members, the respective formations in the first and second members engage such that they are in alignment, thereby, securing the first member to the second. Additionally, a plurality of protrusions, which provide a gripping feature, may be formed on the upper surface of web for inhibiting the stud from sliding, slipping, moving and/or migrating within the plate.

  • Patent number: 7975445
Abstract: A partition with a frame having two vertical end post members spanned by beam members with each end post member having an internally directed longitudinal slotway open towards the other end post member and within which the ends of the beam members are received and, preferably, with the end post members having a front to back width greater than the front to back width of the beam members such that vertical raceways are defined between the post members outward of the beam members and inward of removable cladding panels coupled to each front and back of the frame outward of the post members. Preferably, channelways through each post member, preferably at the upper and/or lower ends of each post member, provide for access to the vertical raceways via horizontal raceways extending between the posts above and below each beam.

  • Patent number: 7797908
Abstract: A metal framing member for use in a wide variety of applications including interior and exterior walls, structural insulated panels (SIPs), as well as floors, ceilings and roofs of residential and commercial buildings, to name but a few. The metal framing member generally includes first and second metal components, where each of the metal components is a separate piece and includes an elongated support with a series of fingers extending therefrom. The two metal components are attached together near tips of the fingers so that an alternating sequence of fingers and spaces is formed in an intermediate area between the two supports. This sequence can result in weight, material and cost savings, reduced thermal and acoustic conductivity across the metal framing member, and trade-ready holes for passing through items such as wires, pipes, etc.
