Relatively Movable Covering Sections Patents (Class 52/55)
  • Patent number: 11008758
Abstract: The invention relates to covering a gap between windows at the ridge of a double pitch skylight including at least one pair of windows. Each window comprises a frame with a frame top member and the windows of a pair are interconnected by one or more mounting brackets at the ridge. A cover element is arranged so that it interconnects the two windows of the pair on the interior side and extends in parallel with the ridge length direction. One edge of the cover element is inserted in a groove in the top frame member of one window of the pair and another opposite edge is inserted in a corresponding groove in the other window. The cover element is preferably made from an airtight material, is preferably convex on the interior side in the mounted state, and is preferably provided with elastic connecting parts at the two opposite edges.

  • Patent number: 4569293
Abstract: A freight car is constructed with an undercarriage having a flat cargo floor and with an upright fixed end wall at each end of the floor. A gantry in the form of an arch extends upwardly from the floor substantially centrally between the end walls and a hood support rail extends between the fixed end walls on each side of the floor. The space above the floor is covered by a hood which is of a length to extend between the gantry and one end wall and which includes a roof portion which overlies the gantry and the one end wall and side wall portions which extend downwardly from each side of the roof. The side wall portions carry rollers or casters which are engageable with the rail for supporting the hood for movement along the rail. The hood may be moved when it is in an open position along the rail for example to completely uncover the space between the gantry and one end wall.

  • Patent number: 4543888
Abstract: A convertible railway hopper car has parallel longitudinal beams defining the sides of a hatchway for filling the car with granular material from a spout, and hinged on the upper margins of the car sidewalls are cargo cover members which may occupy elevated positions in which they form a roof covering the entire car body except the hatchway, or idle positions hanging inside the car body. Hinged hatch elements are mounted on the cargo cover members at one side of the hatchway and are movable between extended positions closing the hatchway and secured to the cargo cover members at the other side of the hatchway, and open positions lying atop the cargo cover members upon which they are mounted. When the cargo cover members are in idle position the hatch elements hang below them.
