The elongate rigid shell includes an inner surface, an outer surface, a first shell edge, and a first flange protruding from the first shell edge in a direction toward the inner surface of the elongate rigid shell. The elongate base includes a base body including a first base edge and a first flexible latching element extending from the first base edge of the base body, the first flexible latching element including a first latching protrusion having a first inclined outer surface and a first shoulder. The elongate base is configured for insertion into the elongate rigid shell with the first flange compressing the first flexible latching element and engaging the first shoulder of the first latching protrusion.

Abstract: A fastening device for fastening glass panes in a wooden or plastic frame includes a plastic retaining rail fixable on the frame, and a clip strip mountable onto the retaining rail. The retaining rail has a fastening arm with a claw connectable with the frame by fasteners, and a clamping arm at a distance to the fastening arm. The clip strip has a groove for form-lockingly receiving the clip claw, and a groove for force-lockingly and/or form-lockingly receiving the clamping arm. The clip strip is form-lockingly held by the pre-stressed clamping arm and a free, non-secured section of the retaining rail is pressed against the glass pane by a permanent stressing force such that a seal between the retaining rail and the glass pane is pressed against the glass pane and the glass pane is pressed against a seal between the backside thereof and the stop of the frame.

Abstract: A molding/trim quick release system reduces the work and materials involved to refinish walls, ceilings, or molding/trim without any of the issues previously associated with the process. The system of the present invention provides an easy way to attach and remove molding/trim so that walls, ceilings, molding/trim and the like can be refinished or renovated without issues for surrounding surfaces. Unlike conventional molding/trim, which is usually attached with nails or other fasteners and is difficult to remove, molding/trim attached with the system of the present invention may be readily removed and reattached.

Abstract: The invention is a joint cover assembly and related method for covering a gap adjacent an edge of a panel that covers a sub-surface. The assembly includes a molding having a foot, a first arm, and a second arm. The foot is positioned along a longitudinal axis of the molding, wherein the first arm, and optionally the second arm, extend generally perpendicularly to the foot. A tab depends from at least one of the first and second arms. At least one of the tab and the foot engage a track in order to position the assembly over the gap. The method includes placing the foot in the gap, pressing the respective panel engaging surfaces into contact with respective panels, and configuring at least one of the tab and the foot to cooperate to retain the molding in the gap when the assembly is installed.

A mounting flange for the wall extends laterally from the back face of the element, beyond the second longitudinal edge, and has a longitudinal channel along the second edge with a width that is effective to receive an edge of wall siding.

A tab depends from at least one of the first and second arms. At least one of the tab and the foot engage a track in order to position the assembly over the gap. The method includes the steps of placing the foot in the gap, pressing the respective panel engaging surfaces into contact with respective panels, and configuring at least one of the tab and the foot to cooperate to retain the molding in the gap when the assembly is in an installed condition.

Mount components are attached to a building in place of J-channel, J molding, drip edge, gutter apron or siding. Rail components are assembled to the desired length using connector components and lights or signage are attached to a rail component using hooks. A guide member is placed at each end of the assembled rail and the rail is guided through an opening in the mount component securing the lights or signage to the building. The rail components are then guided through an opening in the mount component.

Abstract: The apparatus and method for sealing at least two surfaces includes a sealing member with an attachment portion fixed to one of the surfaces, and a seal portion connected to the attachment portion. The seal portion of the sealing member includes a deformable segment that may be received and retained by a receiving aperture that is defined by at least one of the surfaces. The receiving aperture may further be defined by at least one engagement member extending from at least one of the surfaces. At least one coating, such as paint, may also be located on a side of the sealing member opposite the surfaces. The seal may be engaged and disengaged without requiring reapplication of the coating. Thus, the present invention provides an effective technique for sealing parts of an object, such as sealing a door, panel, cover or the like to a surrounding structure.

Abstract: An L-shaped clip for mounting a trim member along an exposed edge of a suspension ceiling includes a support leg to be longitudinally secured to a grid tee and a perpendicular face leg to be secured to the trim member. The support leg includes offset clip walls for engagement with offset tee walls and clip abutment surfaces for engagement with tee abutment surfaces. The offset walls and abutment surfaces cooperate to assist in the alignment and mounting of the clip to the grid tee at different relative heights. A single clip may be mounted to either a T-shaped grid tee or an open channel grid tee.

Abstract: A bracket for joining at least two spanning members, such as a board and a supporting member, includes a generally planar unitary body having front and rear sections, and a mid-section. The front and rear sections include locking members, which interlock when two brackets are aligned to each other. The bracket allows building of a structure, such as a deck, from top, where the nail or screw heads are hidden.

Abstract: An exterior trim assembly for use with a window or door surround in a building structure comprises at least one mantle for affixing above the window or door, and first and second pilaster assemblies for affixing on the sides of the window or door. The mantle comprises a mantle base and a corresponding mantle cover to affix to and cover the mantle base. Each pilaster assembly comprises a base and a cover element affixed to the base wherein each of the bases has a plurality of regularly repeating reinforced structural sections. At least two pilaster cover plates are provided, each pilaster cover plate is affixed to and covering one of the first and second pilaster bases.

Abstract: A sleeve for covering the exposed rafters of a structure to prevent premature damage to new construction, and to cover older damaged rafters. The rafter sleeve has two elongated side walls and an elongated bottom for covering the longer side and bottom dimensions of the exposed portion of a rafter. An end cap covers the terminal end of the rafter, and a top covers the portion of top of the rafter extending beyond the eave of a roof. The rafter sleeves can be made in rectangular profile for flat rafters or in parallelogram profile for the rafters of a pitched roof. The rafter sleeve is attached to a rafter in a manner that a portion of the sleeve extends under the eave, and is sealed around the edges. After installation, the sleeve can be painted to resemble an undamaged rafter.

Abstract: A ceiling system which includes a plurality of grid elements which form a grid framework and a plurality of downwardly accessible ceiling panels. The ceiling panels include a substrate and at least two mounting members. Each mounting member cooperates with the substrate to provide strength and rigidity characteristics to the substrate and to form a grid receiving cavity. Each mounting member further cooperates with a grid element to accurately position the panel relative to the grid framework. When installed, the system provides no visual indications on how the ceiling panel can be removed.

Abstract: A cornice molding cap is provided as an accessory to cover or eliminate gaps created where cornice molding meets at a corner of a building. The cap covers gaps where cornice molding meets at a corner structure formed by two walls. The cap is particularly useful in exterior siding installations at corners not employing corner posts having receiver pockets for cladding material end edges. A method of finishing a corner molding installation is described, as is a system for finishing such installation, and an assembly including a unitary cornice molding corner cap.

Abstract: An improved staple-in fabric awning system is provided. The awing has a frame made of ribs with outwardly exposed longitudinally extending staple slots. A fabric canopy covers the frame and is tucked into and secured within the staple slots. A vinyl strip is configured to snap into the staple slots of the awning atop the canopy to span and hide the tucked in portions and cover the staples therein. The vinyl strip is covered at least on its exposed top portion with fabric that may visually blend into the fabric of the canopy or that may visually contrast with the fabric of the canopy. The system includes snap-in and snap-on plastic perimeter flanges and out rod flanges that are mounted on the perimeter ribs and out rods that form a grid on the underside of the awning. The plastic flanges form inwardly projecting lips around the openings of the underside grids that support egg crate ceiling panels to form an aesthetically pleasing underside ceiling of the awning.

The stabilizer bars are formed of sheet metal and have bendable tabs that can be bent to hold said trim strip second portions in contact with the webs of their respective tees.

Abstract: A safety bumper, and method for covering edges and corners of a street sign, has an elongate bumper element and a clip element. The elongate bumper element has a pliable body, a generally U-shaped cross-section for fitting around the edges and corners of the street sign, and two ends. The pliable body has a thickness for preventing the street sign from causing injuries, while the pliable body is still pliant enough to wrap closely around the corners of the sign without bulging away from the street sign, enabling the elongate bumper to cover substantially all of the edges and corners. The clip element functions to clip together or otherwise fasten the two ends of the elongate bumper element.

The decorative trim piece is characterized in that the completely finished decorative plate is inserted into an injection mold and that the carrying element is injection-molded as an injection molding compound directly onto the back of the decorative plate so that both elements are connected to one another at least in partial areas so solidly that they form a sturdy unit.

Abstract: An exterior trim assembly for use with a window or door surround in a building structure comprises at least one mantle for affixing above the window or door, and first and second pilaster assemblies for affixing on the sides of the window or door. The mantle comprises a mantle base and a corresponding mantle cover to affix to and cover the mantle base. Each pilaster assembly comprises a base and a cover element affixed to the base wherein each of the bases has a plurality of regularly repeating reinforced structural sections. At least two pilaster cover plates are provided, each pilaster cover plate is affixed to and covering one of the first and second pilaster bases.

Abstract: A cover fitting for connecting more than one raceway includes an L-shaped top having first and second curved grooves extending along the inner surface of the top and a plurality of hooks extending outwardly from the inner surface for engaging a portion of each raceway base. The cover fitting further includes first and second opposing sides extending from the inner surface of the top. The cover fitting can be used with a fitting base received in first and second grooves for situations requiring a specific bend radius, or in applications without a fitting base, where there are no bend radius requirements.

Abstract: A trim assembly for interior walls of buildings has a cornerpiece configured for retention in a corner between intersecting walls, a trim strip extending from each opposite side of the cornerpiece, a tang extending from each opposite side of the cornerpiece and extending into slots in respective trim strips, a block member at each opposite side of the cornerpiece, at least one post extending from at least one of the block members and into a slot in a decorative member, and a clip device disposed about the post to retain it in the slot to retain the decorative member relative to the block member.

Abstract: A trim piece for mounting to an electronic equipment cabinet, a mounting arrangement, and a method of mounting a trim piece to an electronic equipment cabinet or rack. The trim piece may be mounted on a support member of an electronic equipment cabinet to conceal a recess in the support member, for example, a recess used to route electrical wires or cables. The trim piece may also be mounted to a cabinet to conceal equipment mounting holes in the frame of the cabinet. The trim piece may include projections or recesses for attaching to the frame or support members. A trim piece may be mounted by means of intermediate spacers that may be threaded into the mounting holes in the frame. The spacers may provide means for mounting the trim piece to the spacers, for example, by means of a snap fit or slide fit.

Abstract: Cementitious exterior sheathing products are provided which include a rigid support member affixed to a cementitious layer. The rigid support member includes at least one nailing flange disposed along one of its lateral sides for allowing the sheathing product to be affixed to an exterior wall of a building. Preferred mechanical and adhesive bonding techniques are suggested for combining the cementitious layer and rigid support member together to form an integrated product. Such products are lighter in weight and are more crack resistant than currently available fiber cement trim boards.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pasteless wall covering system in which wall covering becomes easily installable, removable, changeable and reusable without damaging walls. A wall covering border is attached to, or made from, a semi-rigid paper stock and is held on the wall by a holder with channels. The holder can be created by scoring and folding a top and bottom channel. The holder can be attached to the wall by stapling, adhesives or other attachment means.

Abstract: A countertop assembly comprising a horizontal deck having an upper and a lower surface and an elongated vertical edge surface and an elongated molded strip superimposed on the vertical surface. A pattern formed from either ridges or recesses or a combination of ridges and recesses may be molded into the front side of the elongated molded strip. A method of manufacturing this countertop assembly is also disclosed.
