Abstract: A method for creating a laminate floor, wherein a digital image is acquired and segmented into a plurality of sections, such that each section is sized to fit on a laminate flooring plank and contains a distinct portion of the digital image. A digital layout is created using all of the sections and the digital layout is printed. The printed digital layout is secured to a sheet of base material and the sheet of base material is divided into a plurality of flooring planks. The flooring planks are then assembled in a predetermined order and alignment to reproduce the digital image on the laminate floor.

  • Patent number: 7000356
Abstract: A molding includes an attaching portion to be bonded to an interior side of a peripheral edge of a glass plate and an elastic portion capable of being in close contact with a window opening. The molding is made of thermoplastic resin and has an electrically conductive member insert-molded therein, the electrically conductive member extending substantially parallel to a surface of the glass plate and generating heat by bringing an eddy current generator near thereto. The eddy current generator is brought near a surface of the transparent plate to generate heat in the electrically conductive member, thereby softening or melting the molding, and an external force is applied to the transparent plate to disassemble the transparent plate from the window opening of an automobile.

Abstract: A grate for a swimming pool structure is constructed by placing a multiple of grate bars in an elevated position above the gutter which is parallel to the pools edge including any curvatures. The grate bars follow the curvatures of the pool's edge. When in the elevated position, the multiple of parallel grate bars are clamped together and a hole is drilled through all of the parallel grate bars. A retaining bolt is placed through all of the grate bars including the curvatures of the pools'edge and the bolts are fastened therein. There after, the assembled unit of grate bars is lowered into the gutter to be even with the surface of the deck and the water surface.

  • Patent number: 6840022
Abstract: A system for mounting a member such as a rail to a support surface such as a floor, made of a precast concrete material, without penetrating the floor. The rail mounting system includes a base plate secured to the upper surface of the floor via an adhesive, with one or more connectors extending upwardly from the base plate. An anchor plate is secured to the rail, and adjustment screws are interconnected with the rail for adjusting the elevation of the rail relative to the base plate. When the desired elevation of the rail is attained, engagement members such as nuts are secured to the threaded connectors extending upwardly from the base plate, to fix the height of the anchor plate, and thereby the rail. A grout layer is then applied between the base plate and the anchor plate. After the grout layer is set, the leveling screws are removed and a topping layer of concrete is applied over the components of the mounting system so as to encapsulate the base plate, the anchor plate and the engagement members.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides for a method of placing a concrete structure in a generally horizontal position. The method includes building the concrete structure in an essentially vertical position, the concrete structure being defined by a first end. The concrete structure is pivotably supported at a support location proximate the first end while the concrete structure is in the essentially vertical position. The concrete structure is then pivoted about the support location to move the concrete structure from the essentially vertical position to the generally horizontal position.

Abstract: A process for laying small decorative tiles on a surface includes the use of a lightweight plastic matrix having ridges of a desired pattern which are used to locate and space the tiles of different shapes in the desired locations. Tiles of the desired color and shape are placed face down on the matrix. A perforated paper matrix having an adhesive layer is then placed over the exposed back sides of the tiles to maintain their relative positions. The surface to be tiled is then coated with thinset adhesive and the tile strip with the matrix is removed and placed against the surface. Several such tile strips may be placed side-by-side or in a desired arrangement on the surface after which grout is applied between the tiles in a well known manner. The process for producing the paper matrix is also described.
