Elongated, Laterally Spaced Strips Or Strands Patents (Class 52/799.11)
  • Patent number: 8393129
Abstract: The invention relates to a metal composite panel intended for construction, including at least two substantially parallel sheets (21) and (22) with at least three profiles (3) substantially parallel to each other arranged between and fastened to the sheets. The three profiles serve as separators, making it possible to separate the sheets and are arranged so that the average distance between two adjacent profiles is not necessarily uniform but suited to the local conditions of use of said panel. In order to obtain a panel having an optimal compromise between weight and performance, light alloys and, in particular, aluminum are advantageous. The composite panels are particularly useful as a floor of a rolling vehicle, as the floor, deck or ramp of a floating vehicle or as the floor of a flying vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7814729
Abstract: A stiff panel (1) comprises a skin (2) and at least one stiffener (3) of composite material on said skin. Free surface (311) of web (31) of stiffener (3) on the stiff panel according to the invention comprises a deformable core (33) and a covering (34) which covers core (33) and joins said core with structural part (35) of web (31). The width of core (33) is equal to or greater than the width of structural part (35) of web (31) of stiffener (3), depending on the shock energy against which panel (1) must be protected.

  • Patent number: 7748187
Abstract: A bracket for joining at least two spanning members, such as a board and a supporting member, includes a generally planar unitary body having front and rear sections, and a mid-section. The front and rear sections include locking members, which interlock when two brackets are aligned to each other. The bracket allows building of a structure, such as a deck, from top, where the nail or screw heads are hidden.

  • Patent number: 7743570
Abstract: A method for fabricating muntin grid pieces includes steps that attach an outer muntin grid element to an inner muntin grid element to form a two piece muntin grid piece. The outer muntin grid element surrounds at least three sides of the inner muntin grid element and may be held to the outer muntin grid element without connectors such as adhesive. The outer muntin grid element may be a slit tube that is spread open to be positioned over the inner muntin grid element.

  • Publication number: 20090151283
Abstract: A fibre reinforced cement flooring sheet (1) that is suitable for use in wet area flooring, is lower in density than conventional compressed fibre cement wet area flooring, and is nailable. The flooring sheet (1) includes connecting means (2) on longitudinal edges permitting the sheet to be interlockingly engaged with adjacent sheets to form a substantially coplanar support surface, suitable for use in wet areas.

  • Patent number: 6412251
Abstract: A panel system includes a first skin, a second skin, a web core constructed from sheet material for securing the skins together in a spaced, sandwich relationship, and a connecting means for affixing the web core within the skins. The web core includes a plurality of spaced apart longitudinal members having longitudinally spaced projections extending therefrom and further having transversely aligned, longitudinally spaced slots therein. The web core further includes a plurality of spaced-apart, transverse cross members each having spaced slots therein receiving the longitudinal members at corresponding transversely aligned slots thereof to provide an interlocked grid between the first and second skins. The grid is connected to the skins utilizing the projections, which extend through slits in the skins to facilitate welding or otherwise bonding the components.

  • Patent number: 6286289
Abstract: An isogrid structure formed from multiple face sheets (14) and multiple stringers (16). Each face sheet (14) and each stringer (16) being an individual component. Each stringer (16) having two or more joints for attachment to the face sheets (14). The face sheets (14) formed from flat sheet material and include a pattern of openings for attachment of the joints on the stringers (16). The geometry of the openings matching the geometry of the joints on the stringers (16). The assembled unit is formed by inserting each joint on a stringer (16) through its corresponding opening in a face sheet (14) and then bonding the joint to the face sheet (14).

  • Patent number: 6212839
Abstract: The invention relates to a structural element for ships' decks, ships' bulkheads, ships' loading ramps, shore-mounted loading ramps, ships' elevators, ships' doors, loading hatches or the like. The element comprises a frame structure and at least one support plane. The invention is particularly characterized by said support plane being constituted by a plurality of plate-like sandwich elements which are connected with said frame structure in such a way that they integrally contribute to the overall strength of the structural element. Said sandwich elements serve as flanges for beams with conventional webs which are included in the structural element. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the sandwich element comprises a core consisting of a pyramidal framework structure, said core being positioned between two covering plates.
