  • Patent number: 11242709
Abstract: In an extruded window frame, engineered foam patches are attached to the window frame for delivery to the job site. In combination with a sealant bead that is applied at the job site to the perimeter of the nail fin on the window frame, the foam patches serve as weep holes. Moisture reaching the interior of the rough framed opening of the building after installation of the windows is channeled between the sealant bead and the inside of the window frame. The foam patches, applied as a spaced-apart pair to the inside surface of the nail fin are in physical contact with the sealant bead to receive channeled rainwater, which can flow by gravity to the bottom of the window frame and exit the window. The foam patches block entry of insects.

  • Patent number: 8561367
Abstract: A water vapor release and moisture seal device for use in association with brick, wood, stone, and cement or concrete masonry unit (CMU) buildings is provided. The device has a first layer metal housing and second layer metal housing which are inserted over the top of the parapet walls of a flat or slightly slanted-roofed building. A water resistant cloth and mesh material layer is inserted between the metal housings. A fastener secures the second layer metal housing to parapet wall of the building in two places, once each on the exterior and interior of the parapet wall. The housings interlock with each other on the exterior side of the wall and with a fastener on the interior side of the wall. The device is secured to the top of a wall of a building and allows the wall to breathe properly and eliminate moisture.

  • Patent number: 8539722
Abstract: A roof water dispersal system includes a plurality of longitudinally extending dispersal elements mounted near the edge of a roof structure for receiving and dispersing streams of roof run-off water. The dispersal elements are spaced apart from each other and assembled into a unit to receive streams of roof run-off water, and to disperse the run-off water into droplets or mist to eliminate the erosive effect on the terrain beneath the roof structure which is generally associated with conventional rain gutters. The unit is movable in an upward direction relative to the mounting surface into a retracted storage position, and is vertically movable relative to the roof edge for adjusting the distance between the roof edge and the dispersal elements.

  • Patent number: 8464473
Abstract: A liquid dispersing device includes a relatively rigid thin perforated plate having a plurality of closely spaced minute openings or holes in the form of a fine mesh. A plurality of plates are mounted on brackets secured along a side wall of a structure in the path of liquid flowing over and downward from the upper end of the wall. The liquid passing through the holes is dispersed into fine droplets with minimum agglomeration. The angle of the plate and holes determine the direction in which the droplets are dispersed. Use of the perforated plates can eliminate the usual gutter and leader structures which remove rainwater from roofs of houses and can also provide more effective cooling when mounted along internal cooling tower walls.

  • Patent number: 8464474
Abstract: This new design assembly consisting of two brackets with a round tube, that is mounted on to the roof fascia, the bracket with a single one side round tube is mounted at the far end of the fascia, and the bracket with the double sided tube is mounted on the fascia approx. 10 feet apart. Using the hole in the end cap install the gutter assembly over the round tube on the bracket so that it rotated freely. Install a rain cover over the bracket. The pin is then removed from the bracket and the gutter assembly rotates from a horizontal location to a down position to clean out leaves and debris. After cleaning, the gutter is rotated back to its horizontal location and the pin is reinserted. The rain water will flow trough the bracket tube and out the downspout.
