Patent number: 8951634Abstract: The present invention relates to a filler material for a floor, comprising a natural base material and a mixture containing loess and a resin in powder or pellet form, as well as to a method for producing the filler material. The filler material of the present invention uses the natural base material and is thus environmentally-friendly and not harmful to the human body. Further, in the event rice husks are used as the natural base material, a person slipping on the floor is protected from burning caused by friction as the rice husks have a high moisture content. In addition, the loess contained in the filler material keeps the floor from becoming moldy and emits far infrared radiation, and therefore is beneficial to the human body. The resin emulsion of the filler material prevents the natural base material from generating dust, thus preventing dust from entering the human body via the respiratory organs of the human body.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2010Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Inventors: Mi-Suk Jung, Bo Jung Park

Publication number: 20120183727Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a web composed essentially of a granulate and a polymer. In order for the web to have good suction against the substrate after it has been laid on a floor, the interstices between the granulate particles are not allowed to be filled with the polymer. According to the invention, this is brought about in that the polymer is applied to the top side of the granulate. After the polymer melts, the polymer seeps down through the granulate. By means of targeted control or regulation, this sinking process is influenced before the polymer reaches the underside of the web. The invention also comprises a sensor and the product as such.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2011Publication date: July 19, 2012Applicants: TPS TechnoPartner Samtronic GmbHInventors: Hanns Joerg Mauk, Bernhard Voith, Bernd Fischer, Karl-Heinz Peter Scholz

The products are formed by passing ingredients including the fibrous material and polypropylene through an extruder (preferably a twin screw extruder) at temperatures of from about 150-260° C. The extruded composite products have physical properties very similar to those of natural wood, including high tensile strengths, high compressive strengths, and high densities.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2000Date of Patent: July 1, 2003Assignee: Correct Building Products, L.L.C.Inventor: Martin Grohman

Publication number: 20030114626Abstract: Reactive hot-melt adhesive with a softening-point between 90° C. and 160° C.—in particular reactive polyurethane hot-melt adhesives—are suitable for the adhesion bonding of mouldings made of agglomerated cork to discs made of natural cork. In this way it is possible for high-quality cork-stopper composites for the sealing of beverage bottles to be produced in very efficient and cost-effective manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2002Publication date: June 19, 2003Inventors: Uwe Franken, Hartmut Primke, Carlos De Alvaro

Patent number: 6569540Abstract: The invention is a wood composite including wood particles, a binder, at least one wood stabilizer, and optionally other ingredients. Examples of the wood stabilizer are an ammoniacal wood stabilizer or ammoniacal copper dimethyl glyoxime. The wood stabilizer is present in an amount effective to reduce the swelling value of the wood composite to less than that of an analogous wood composite not treated with the wood stabilizer. A method for making wood composites and the product of that method are also disclosed. The method includes providing green wood particles and applying to them a wood stabilizer as described above, preferably without an intervening drying step. It is contemplated that the wood stabilizer can be applied in an amount effective to at least substantially preserve the resulting wood composite against at least one of rot, termites, and carpenter ants. While or after applying the stabilizer, a water repellant material is applied to the wood particles.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2000Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: Chemical Specialties, Inc.Inventors: Alan F. Publication number: 20030055132Abstract: A method of preparing a cohesive product having a density of from 250 kg/m3 to 900 kg/m3 from a low density feedstock, such as a milled thermoset resin foam, includes the steps of providing the feedstock in the form of substantially dry finely divided particles or fibres, mixing the feedstock with a suitable amount of a thermosetting resin in finely divided dry powder form and a suitable amount of a hydraulic binder in finely divided dry powder form, to give a dry starting material having a compression ratio of at least 2:1, and forming the starting material into a mat and pressing the mat at suitable conditions of temperature and pressure to compress the mat and to cause the thermosetting resin to set to form the cohesive product. Thereafter, there may be provided to the cohesive product water in an amount sufficient for the hydration of the hydraulic binder so that the hydraulic binder sets to form a finished product.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2002Publication date: March 20, 2003Inventor: Michael Windsor Symons

Patent number: 6362256Abstract: A polymer composition includes a first component being a hydroxy-functional polymer, a second component being a natural polymer and a third component being a thermoplastic polyester. The first component, second component and third component are compounded to form a polymer composition.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2001Date of Patent: March 26, 2002Assignees: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of Agriculture, Biotechnology Research and Development CorporationInventors: Julious L. Patent number: 6340498Abstract: A mixture of a binder and a particle material, the mixture having 50 to 90 volume percent of the particle material. The binder is curable in a temperature range of 50° F. to 90° F. The volume percent of the present composition provides an inherent permeability in any conventional application method. It can be sprayed or applied by hand and yet it still maintains an intrinsic permeability.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1999Date of Patent: January 22, 2002Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: John Stephen Kirby, John Miles Watcher
