  • Patent number: 11401375
Abstract: A flame-retardant polyether polyol is provided, including a Mannich base and an epoxide. The epoxide is selected from ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide. The Mannich base has a structure represented by a formula (I). In the Mannich base, flame-retardant groups, i.e., halogens are introduced at the second, fourth and sixth positions of a phenyl group, and flame-retardant elements, i.e., halogens and nitrogen are introduced into synthesized polyether polyol. The amount of active hydrogen in the Mannich base is small so that side reactions during synthesis of the polyether polyol are reduced, and the viscosity of the polyether polyol is lowered. A flame-retardant polyurethane material is also provided, synthesized from raw materials comprising the above-mentioned flame-retardant polyether polyol and an isocyanate. Due to autocatalytic performance of tertiary amido in the flame-retardant polyether polyol, use of a catalyst can be reduced and even avoided during the synthesis.

Abstract: The present invention provides an organic solvent-based concentrated ink composition for gravure printing which shows good print density, printability, and laminatability even in gravure printing using a shallow cylinder. The organic solvent-based concentrated ink composition for gravure printing mainly includes a pigment; binder resin; and an organic solvent. The pigment includes at least one of an organic pigment and an inorganic pigment. The binder resin includes polyurethane resin. A solution obtainable by dissolving 30 parts by mass of the polyurethane resin in 70 parts by mass of the organic solvent has a viscosity of 100 to 500 mPa·s/25° C. The concentrated ink composition has a viscosity of 10 to 1000 mPa·s/25° C. and has a viscosity in gravure printing of 12 to 23 s/25° C. in terms of the efflux time from a Zahn cup #3.

Abstract: A solvent borne brushable coating composition having improved sag resistance and process for using the same are provided. The composition includes a crosslinkable component having one or more polymers having two or more crosslinkable groups a crosslinking component comprising one or more crosslinking agents having crosslinking groups; and a sag control agent of polyurea in drying oil. When a layer a pot mix resulting from mixing of the crosslinkable and crosslinking components is brush applied over a substrate, it has high sag resistance, low brush drag while providing desired coating properties, such as high gloss and rapid cure even under ambient conditions. The solvent borne brushable coating compositions is well suited for use in automotive refinish applications as well as direct-to-metal industrial applications, such as construction and transportation equipment.

  • Patent number: 8957247
Abstract: In pretreating a pyridine ring-containing chelate resin which is used in the step for adsorption and collection of a heavy metal ion and a bromide ion derived from a catalyst from the oxidation reaction mother liquid in the process of producing an aromatic carboxylic acid, there may occur phenomena such as swelling of the resin, heat generation of the resin, and air bubbles generation, thereby causing fracture and deterioration of the resin. As a first treatment, Br? conversion, under a certain condition, of a pyridine ring-containing chelate resin with an aqueous solution of hydrobromic acid is performed, and then as a second treatment, replacement with acetic acid solvent is performed, thereby making it possible to prevent fracture and deterioration of the resin.
