Mixed With O-c(=o)-o-, Hal-c(=o)-, Or Hal-c(=o)-hal Reactant Or Polymer Derived Therefrom Patents (Class 525/433)
  • Patent number: 4250279
Abstract: Described herein are molding compositions of blends of a polyarylate derived from a dihydric phenol and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and a polyetherimide. These blends can additionally contain thermoplastic polymers which are compatible with the blend of polyarylate and polyetherimide.

  • Patent number: 4234700
Abstract: Condensation polymers or addition polymers which contain sterically hindered polyalkylpiperidine groups are proposed as light stabilizers for plastics. The polymers concerned are relatively low-molecular polymers and a difunctional derivative of a polyalkylpiperidine is additionally used for themanufacture of these. The piperidine radical can be present in the main chain or as a side group of the polymeric stabilizer. Polymeric stabilizers of this type do not tend to migrate out of the plastic or to be removed by extraction; they are therefore very permanent in use.

  • Patent number: 4225687
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a new class of halobisphenolethylene polycarbonate-polyetheramide-imide blends. More particularly, the invention is concerned with halobisphenolethylene polycarbonate-polyetheramide-imide blends which exhibit enhanced physical and/or chemical properties. The halobisphenolethylene polycarbonate-polyetheramide-imide blends are suitable for the manufacture of filaments, fibers, films, sheets, laminates and articles of manufacture including reinforced articles by conventional manufacturing techniques.

  • Patent number: 4170587
Abstract: The invention relates to statistical mixtures of halogenated bisphenols with halogen-free bisphenols and to processes for their preparation. This invention further relates to new aromatic, bromine-containing and/or chlorine-containing, high-molecular weight thermoplastic polycarbonates with good resistance to fire (oxygen index .gtoreq. 36%) and good flow properties, to their preparation from the statistical mixtures of halogenated bisphenols and halogen-free bisphenols and to their use alone or as a mixture with halogen-free polycarbonates or with thermoplastic polyesters for the preparation of moldings, films and fibers.

  • Patent number: 4163088
Abstract: The invention relates to antistatic polyamide compositions comprising a polyamide and as an antistatic agent from 0.1 to 20%, preferably from 1.5 to 15%, by weight based on the total weight of the composition of urethanes with ether groups. The urethanes with ether groups are stable in melts of aliphatic polyamides for prolonged periods at temperatures of up to about 300.degree. C. and filaments and fibers of such polyamides or woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-woven or pile fabrics produced from these filaments or fibers show outstanding antistatic properties.
