Abstract: The present invention discloses a polymeric polyamine which can be produced by polymerizing polyoxyalkylene-amine and a linker. The linker can be anhydride, carboxylic acid, epoxy, isocyanate or poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) copolymers (SMA). The present invention also discloses a method for stabilizing the Ag nanoparticles with polymeric polyamine. The polymeric polyamine serving as a stabilizer or dispersant is mixed with a water solution of silver salt and then a reducer is provided to reduce the silver ions and form an organic or a water solution of Ag nanoparticles. Water or solvent of this solution can be further removed through a heating, freezing or decompression process, and thus solid content of the solution can be increased. The concentrated solution also can be diluted to obtain a stable dispersion without aggregation.

The substrate with an affinity for corneal cells is a copolymer comprising units -(A)- and -(B)- in which the units A are derived from aminoalkyl (alkyl)acrylates and the units B are derived from aryloxy, alkoxy or hydroxyalkyl (alkyl)acrylates, and (alkyl)acrylic acids.

Abstract: An aminoalkoxystyrene represented by the formula (1) wherein R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl and n is 3-6. The aminoalkoxystyrene is prepared by reacting an aminoalkoxyphenylmagnesium halide with vinyl halide in the presence of a catalyst. A quaternized amino group-containing polymer made by quaternizing the amino groups of a polymer prepared from the aminoalkoxystyrene is useful as an anion exchanger.

Abstract: Novel ampholytic ter-polymers comprising at least an ethylenically unsaturated cationic monomer, a monomer containing a carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid group and diallyamine or derivative are claimed. Further, the ter-polymers may be used in personal care or personal washing compositions optionally in the presence of conditioning agents such as silicone, fatty amines, fatty amine oxides and fatty quaternaries and/or various benefit agents. The ter-polymer compositions are especially useful in the treatment of keratin-containing substrates. Keratin substrates include, but are not limited to, animal and human hair, skin and nails.

Abstract: To provide a papermaking internal sizing agent capable of efficiently imparting sizing performance even in neutral papermaking which uses calcium carbonate as filler, and uses no aluminum sulfate or uses a small amount of aluminum sulfate, and also provide a paper or a paperboard obtained by using the papermaking internal sizing agent. The papermaking internal sizing agent comprises as an effective ingredient an amphoteric copolymer having hydrophobic groups and cationic groups, at least a part of the cationic groups being quaternized. Preferably, the amphoteric copolymer is obtained by polymerizing monomer ingredients that it essentially contain a hydrophobic monomer (A), a cationic monomer (B), and an anionic monomer (C) and that an anion equivalent of the monomer (C) is 0.1 to 90% of a cation equivalent of the monomer (B), in which a rate of quaternizing of the cationic groups is not less than 40% by mole. The paper or the paperboard contains the above papermaking internal sizing agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to polymeric compositions useful in the manufacture of biocompatible medical devices. More particularly, the present invention relates to certain cationic monomers capable of polymerization to form polymeric compositions having desirable physical characteristics useful in the manufacture of ophthalmic devices. Such properties include the ability to extract the polymerized medical devices with water. This avoids the use of organic solvents as is typical in the art. The polymer compositions comprise polymerized silicon-containing monomers end-capped with polymerizable cationic hydrophilic groups.
