With Means To Fold Cover After Closing Patents (Class 53/375.5)
  • Patent number: 8918981
Abstract: A fixture for holding a pivotally closable cap with a base connected to a cover by a foldable hinge during a closure operation. The fixture includes a U-shaped slide member having a back wall and a pair of side walls extending therefrom for accommodating the cap with the base and cover in an open condition. The side walls have distal extents, which extend beyond a transverse mid-line of the cover and prevent angular movement of the cover within the slide member.

  • Patent number: 8826959
Abstract: A bag may be formed from a tube of high strength packaging material by forming a heat seal in the end of the tube. As part of forming the heat seal, one or more supplying apparatuses, which may be air outlets, are positioned for being in opposing face-to-face relation with, and for causing heat transfer with, at least one outer portion of the tube while a transportation system transports the tube to a nipping apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7793484
Abstract: A folding unit for producing packages of pourable food products from sealed packs having at least one projecting foldable end tab. At least one conveying member cyclically receives a relative pack, by the end corresponding to the tab, and feeds the pack along a forming path crosswise in the axis of the pack. A folding mechanism having an impact surface receives each pack by the end corresponding to the tab, and is carried by the conveying member to move between a first operating position, in which the impact surface forms, with the feed direction of the relative pack, an angle of over 90° and open in the direction of the forming path, to fold the relative tab, upon impact, onto the pack in the traveling direction of the pack, and a second operating position, in which the impact surface is rotated towards and cooperates with the pack.

Abstract: A sheet package producing system includes at least a cutter module and a packaging module. The cutter module has a cutter blade, for producing X-ray films by cutting a continuous sheet material. The packaging module has packaging robots, for producing a sheet package by packaging the X-ray films stacked on one another. In the sheet package producing system, a first module control unit is incorporated in the cutter module, for controlling the cutter blade. A second module control unit is incorporated in the packaging module, for controlling the packaging robots. A CPU is connected with the first and second module control units removably by a component network, for controlling the cutter module and the packaging module in synchronism.

  • Patent number: 6557321
Abstract: A tray pack assembly 10 is conveyed through a package forming machine during a final gluing stage by angled continuous belts 37, 38 which drivingly engage side walls of the forming pack 10 and support the pack 10 throughout this operation. To ensure good contact between the pack 10 and the belts 37, 38 and subsequently good contact with compression rollers of a later conveyor bed, two belts 39, 40 of flexible fingers 41 extend above the path of travel so that the tips 42 of the fingers 41 engage the top 14. The provision of these flexible fingers 41 enables deflection of the fingers 41 in the event of the tray having contents which stick above the intended level. The belts 37, 38 enable the spatial relationship between the walls of the pack 10 to be controlled precisely and for squared-off sleeves to be formed thereby.
