Handle Patents (Class 53/413)
  • Patent number: 10814577
Abstract: An apparatus for making a self-opening bag pack includes a supply of flexible film material. An extruder forms a continuous tube of film. A flattener flattens the tube. A first sealer forms a bottom seal across a width of the flattened tube. A cutter cuts the flattened tube into bag blanks has a bag mouth at a predetermined distance from the bottom seal. Second and third sealers form angled seals at lower corners of the bag blank forming a flat bottomed bag. An adhesion knife penetrates the bag pack adhering adjacent bag blanks together in the bag pack. An aperture maker forms apertures for suspending the bag pack from a dispensing rack. The pack is attached to the dispensing rack and the front wall of the subsequent bag is adhered to the rear wall of a first bag, thereby causing the first bag to open when pulled from the rack.

  • Patent number: 10549871
Abstract: This invention is to register printed film on product while wrapping the printed film from a single roll. This is achieved by using a sensor that can read a mark on the film in order to insure that a predetermined length of film is pulled off the roll and the printed portion of the film is in registration with the product. The marks on the film establish the amount of film needed to wrap the product. A sensor such as a photo sensor reads the mark and determines whether the proper length of the film has been pulled off the roll. When the amount of film pulled of the roll does not coincided with sensor reading, the distance between where the product stops and the sealing bar is varied. This allows the length of the film to be adjusted until the sensor readings and the length of the film coincides.

  • Patent number: 8844246
Abstract: A film laminate wound up to form a film roll, from which bags with an integrated handle are produced in a VFFS form-fill and seal bag machine. The film laminate is produced by coating a film web of an outer film with a lamination adhesive and applying a material web of a sealable film to the adhesive layer. The material web is pressed together with the film web and adhesive layer in a lamination gap between a lamination roller and a pressing roller. A reinforcement strip passed to the lamination gap contacts the adhesive layer, between the film web and the sealable film. The circumference surface of the pressing roller has a depression that is coordinated with the film thickness and the film width of the reinforcement strip, so that a uniform pressing pressure prevails in the lamination gap, over the entire width of the laminate.

  • Patent number: 7401450
Abstract: This invention concerns an infusion bag, especially for tea, which has a top part with folded down corners and a middle part folded over it, to which a string with two free ends is attached that goes from one side of the top part through a hole in the folded down parts forming a loop on the other side of the top part and comes back, whereby the two free ends are drawn up through the loop laid over the top edge of the infusion bag and pulled to form a knot. The solution in the invention is characterized by the fact that two holes are made in the top part at a lateral distance next to one another, on the left and right of the longitudinal axis of the bag; each hole goes through a folded down corner and the middle of the top part; by the fact that the string forms a loop and one end goes through one hole and the other end through the second hole; by the fact that the loop is laid over the top edge of the infusion bag, and both ends of the string go up through the loop to form a double knot.

  • Patent number: 7325379
Abstract: A method and apparatus for continuously or intermittently and vertically forming, filling and sealing packaging includes an infeed section, a pleating assembly, a forming tube and a sealing assembly. The pleating assembly imparts at least one pleat to the film. The film may be driven and measured at a nip following the pleating. The forming tube receives the film from the infeed section after the pleat has been made. A film tube is formed about the forming tube. The film tube is vertically fed downward to the sealing assembly which imparts seals to the film tube, thereby forming packages. A hole punch punches holes in the film tube. The film travels a film path that includes the hole punch, the forming tube, the vertical seal assembly and the horizontal seal assembly.

  • Patent number: 7191576
Abstract: A device for making it possible to apply to a pack, moved along a conveyor, a handle (n) of nominal length L situated at the end of a tape. The tape includes a succession of handles (n+i), each handle comprising two adhesive ends and a central part. The device includes a feeder to move the tape as far as a rotary application arm having a length which is equal to the nominal length L. This arm is able to deposit one adhesive end of the handle n on one face of the pack and then the second end of the handle n on a second face of the pack. The device further includes an optical cell for detecting an offset in the position of a handle n+i, an actuator for elongating the length of the rotary arm beyond the nominal length L, making it possible during a rotation of this arm to draw a portion of tape having a length greater than the nominal length, and a control unit.

  • Patent number: 7021025
Abstract: A filter bag for containing a substance for infusion in a liquid comprises: a containment chamber with compartments for doses of the substance, sealed by top and bottom joins; a tag for picking up the bag; and a section of thread, wound around the outside of the containment chamber and extending along an outline of the chamber, one end of the thread being connected to the pick-up tag and the other to the top of the containment chamber. The section of thread is longer than the outline of the containment chamber to which it is attached. The excess length of the section of thread relative to the outline of the chamber is gathered on the outside of the containment chamber for the substance for infusion and is attached to the pick-up tag. A method for production of the filter bag is also part of the invention.
