Abstract: A brochure is made by folding a single sheet of paper along a plurality of parallel longitudinal fold lines to make an interim piece. The interim piece is conveyed in the direction of the longitudinal fold lines, and folded in a right-angle direction transverse to the first direction, along transverse fold lines perpendicular to the longitudinal fold lines. A pouch is placed inside of the interim piece without adhesive, as the interim piece is folded, and the interim piece is sealed to complete the brochure. The pouch is preferably placed over one of the transverse fold lines. A label can be applied to the brochure if desired.

Abstract: In one aspect, assembly of multi-part food packaging is checked by reference to payloads of steganographically-encoded digital watermarks printed across the packaging components. Marking all surfaces of the packaging components allows arbitrary orientation of feed stock in assembly equipment, and wide latitude in placement of inspection cameras along the packaging line. In another aspect, a scanner at a retail checkout station is alert to any gap detected in steganographic encoding on retail product packaging and, if found, alerts an operator to possible presence of an adhesive label with a misleading barcode. The method also includes the steps of filling the bag with the product, and subsequently sealing the bag, using heat sealing apparatus, whereby the seal thus formed passes through at least a portion of the at least one product security element, thereby permanently heat sealing the product security element to the bag.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a new apparatus and process for manufacturing mesh bags using a tube cloth. The apparatus and process involve supplying a continuous tube cloth and at least one band with preprinted labels, propping up the tube cloth with a dynamic guiding assembly, attaching the preprinted labels to the tube cloth using hot melted adhesive or heat sealing methods and manufacturing a product from the tube cloth with the horizontal preprinted labels, and attaching plastic film to the tube mesh cloth. The invention also teaches a dynamic guiding assembly which can be used to punch holes on the tube cloth with heating press and avoid attaching of two opposite sides of the tube cloth.

Abstract: A system for manufacturing a plurality of separable pouches comprising a means for forming sealed pouches, a center cut blade and a means for segregating each sealed pouch with the center cut blade is described. The means for forming the sealed pouches includes placing a plurality of different tablets corresponding to different medications into each sealed pouch. The center cut blade includes a side cut on each end of the blade, a center cut in the middle of the blade, and at least one perforation cut between each side cut and the center cut. The means for separating each sealed pouch with the center cut blade provides each sealed pouch with a sealed top end, a sealed bottom end, and two sides, in which at least one side is also sealed.

Abstract: Resealable packaging for food products is provided with a flexible container having a top face and side faces. A container aperture is disposed in the top face and a flexible closure flap extends from a base portion to a gripping member, and is provided with a movable portion covered of repositionable adhesive to cover the aperture and adhere to a peripheral area thereof in a closed position. The packaging comprises a stiffening band device made of a flexible material longer than the closure flap, which is bonded to the container through the top face and over two side faces and arranged to cover at least the portions of the peripheral area comprised between the longitudinal sides of the closure flap and the facing sides of the aperture. The aperture and the band device are delimited by continuous cut out lines. A method of manufacturing is also disclosed.

The emulsion is prepared using a unique sequence of mixing steps that result in a complete emulsification of ingredients that heretofore have been difficult or impossible to effectively combine. The emulsion may be provided in liquid or paste form or in microfiber cloths, or disposable towelettes, and other such carriers infused with the emulsion. The carrier is moistened with the emulsion and packaged in sealed individual packages. In other embodiments, multiple emulsion-soaked towels or towelettes may be packaged in reclosable cylinders from which individual towels may be extracted and the cylinder reclosed. These pre-soaked towelettes may be used to easily clean and wax vehicles or other similar surfaces.

In addition, an extra layer of foam protects the item or items from damage by external elements, such as moisture and extreme cold or warm temperatures. Any excess air inside the chamber where the items are located, is removed by an external pump, creating a vacuum effect, which provides for the item's safe storage conditions. To facilitate the vacuum action, a valve is provided in two sections on the packaging box.

Each dispenser accepts a single bulk canister containing one pharmaceutical. Sensors detect the indicia and direct the containers to the proper dispenser which fills them with the type and quantity of a pharmaceutical according to the indicia. Incident containers first drop into a dispersion wheel which translates them around the circular station and aligns them with a vertical chute leading to the correct dispenser. After filling, the containers are urged onto a moving, circular table which conveys them to automatic closing and sealing apparatus. Once closed and sealed, the containers exit the dispenser station through pneumatic tubing which conveys them to verification, sorting and shipping stages.

Abstract: A system and method for inspecting a filled prescription order is described. The prescription order includes a first plurality of tablets that is different from a second plurality of tablets. Additionally, the first plurality of tablets has a particular shape and a color that is different from the second plurality of tablets. The system and method generates an order that is communicated to a filling system. A code is then generated at the filling system when the filling system can fill the order. An automated inspection at visual wavelengths is performed for each of the pouches at an inspection station. The automated inspection at visual wavelengths inspects a color and a shape of each tablet. The method then proceeds to scan the code at the inspection station to verify that the correct pouches are associated with the tablets that correspond to the prescription order.
