  • Patent number: 8747505
Abstract: A filter system includes a housing having an inlet opening surrounded by a sealing surface, an outlet opening, and a door having a seating surface surrounding a through-port opening. The door is movable between an open and closed position and a closed position. In an embodiment, a hinge connects the door to the housing, such that the door pivots between open and closed positions about the hinge. A panel pre-filter is seated along the seating surface of the door. A V-bank filter is positioned in the inlet opening, and has a flange in general alignment with the sealing surface, and has a plurality of filter media sections projecting away from the flange and into the housing interior. A latch is adapted to keep the panel pre-filter positioned inline and upstream of the V-bank filter. A seal is disposed between the flange of the V-bank filter and the sealing surface.

  • Patent number: 8741017
Abstract: Air filter cartridges for use in air cleaner assemblies are described. The air filter cartridges typically comprise a stack of strips of fluted media, having an inlet flow face and an outlet flow face. A projection is provided extending outwardly from adjacent the outlet flow face of the media pack, as a projection supporting a seal arrangement. The seal arrangement is typically rectangular, with four straight and four rounded corners. The projection can be configured with open corners, and in some instances comprises tabs, to facilitate flexing of the projection to accommodate variations in a housing seal surface, with which the cartridge is installed. Air cleaner assemblies and components therefor, using cartridges in accord with the descriptions herein, are described.

  • Patent number: 8728191
Abstract: A generally rectangular tractor cab air filter housing arrangement (20) has a main body portion with inlet zones (20a) at each end through which air enters the housing, a first outlet aperture (20c) in the housing over which a filter element (18) is supported, and a second aperture in the housing in which a door (21) is pivoted to provide access to the filter for maintenance. The inlet zones (20a) are formed as chambers which are structurally interconnected by side portions (20d) of the housing so that the housing can be formed as a single piece hollow plastics molding. The door (21) may also be a hollow single piece plastics molding. Both the housing and/or the door may be formed by blow molding or rotational molding.

  • Patent number: 8728192
Abstract: A filter housing has first and second housing parts connected to each other to be openable and secured by a latching element. The latching element is connected to the first housing part by a moveable connection with a predetermined breaking point and is pivotable by the movable connection into the closed state. The latching element has two positioning elements and the housing parts have counter positioning elements. In the closed state, the counter positioning elements are axially arranged between the two positioning elements and the positioning elements form a stop for the counter positioning elements. The latching element has an element locking section locking at a housing locking section on the first or second housing part. The predetermined breaking point is subjected to mechanical stress such that the predetermined breaking point breaks upon locking or release of the latching element.

  • Patent number: 8721754
Abstract: A spring loaded filter clamping frame includes a rear frame section which defines an interior space to secure a filter element. The rear frame section includes a projection extending toward the interior space and a rear latch mechanism. A front frame section defines an interior space and is slidably engaged with the rear frame section. An aperture in the front frame section interacts with the projection. A front latch mechanism with a latch mechanism biasing member interacts with the rear latch mechanism. A frame biasing member is located between the rear frame section and the front frame section. The frame biasing member applies a force urging the rear frame section and the front frame section apart, resulting in a filter clamping frame. In further examples, the frame biasing member is a coil spring and the latch mechanisms are hooks.
