    Abstract: An air filter has an inner filtering body within an outer filtering body. The air filter is configured to fit inside a scoop and adjacent to the inlet opening of the scoop. By placing the air filter adjacent to the inlet opening of the scoop, the size of the air filter may be increased as compared to a traditional air filter which fits within the neck area of the scoop. As such, the surface area of the air filter may be increased to provide more air to an air intake system such as a carburetor, fuel injectors, throttle body, or the like, as compared the traditional air filter. The inner filtering body may be recessed inside or protrude from the outer filtering body. The inner filtering body may be coupled to the outer filtering body along the base of the air filter. The inner filtering body increases the surface area of the air filter so that more air may be provided to the air intake system of a vehicle.

The method may further comprise inducing pressure in the printer with air pressure reduction to pull the exhaust through the collection media, for example with a pump or fan used to produce air pressure reduction. The method may comprise inducing airflow in the printer with ventilation holes or by the addition of a fan to provide a fresh air inlet. The air/hydrocarbon mixture may be directed to the collection media by a transportation system.

The heat capacity of wetted carbon particles retards the heating of nearby unwetted particles, so as to inhibit the ignition of the nearby unwetted particles. The presence of wetted particles intermixed in the substantially homogeneous mixture has relatively little effect on the hydrocarbon adsorption performance of the mixture.

    Abstract: A gas filter comprising a tube open at one end for insertion of the element and a threadedly connectectable end cap for closing the housing are disclosed. Attached to the end cap and also to the opposite end of the housing are receptacles for receiving the ends of the filter therebetween. The receptacles are faced with a resilient seal to make the connection between the receptacle and the filter air-tight as the end cap is tightened. After effecting the seal at both ends of the filter, a pair of hollow hypodermic needles pierce membranes that closed off the ends of the filter. The other ends of the needles extend out of the housing at both ends allowing the connection of an inlet and outlet gas hose thereby establishing fluid communication between the hoses and permit gas to flow through the filter for cleansing.     Abstract: A disposable cartridge filled with a chemical composition that acts as an adsorbent for ammonia vapor is adapted to be used in connection with a diazo process printing machine having a vacuum exhausted chamber. Exhaust from the chamber is passed through the cartridge to remove the noxious ammonia vapors and then is vented into the atmosphere. The cartridge is housed in an elongated rectangular cardboard box having three end flaps formed at each of its opposed open ends. Two opposed flaps of each set are formed with central holes and a plastic screen section adhered between these flaps to retain and allow access to the center section of the box which contains the adsorbent chemical. The center end flaps have knock-outs or tear strips that allow holes to be formed in their centers. These center end flaps cover the screens during shipment and when the cartridge is ready for use the center sections of these end flaps are knocked-out to allow the machine exhaust to be vented into and out of the cartridge.
