Patent number: 6278010Abstract: An improved process for producing modified zinc acrylate fine powder is disclosed, comprising adding acrylic acid in a organic liquid medium and reacting in the presence of zinc oxide and fatty acid, and after completing of the reaction, adding nonionic surfactant, blending homogeneously, removing said organic medium and water by distillation under reduced pressure and simple pulverizing. The process can attains uniform diffusion in a state very rarely inducing fast adhesion or formation of cluster in the drying step, and, permits easy pulverization into a fine powder, 99% of which has a particle size<44 &mgr;m and thereby can be used directly without needing any sieving.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2000Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Kuo Ching Chemical Co., Ltd.Inventors: Chiu-Peng Tsou, Ruey-Tsan Chen, Chang-Min Su

Patent number: 5795615Abstract: A process for producing divalent metal carboxylates having the formula, M(CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2).sub.x COO.sup.-).sub.2, wherein M is the divalent metal cation, zinc (Zn.sup.+2) or copper (Cu.sup.+2) and x is zero or 1 is disclosed. In this process, an anhydrous C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 carboxylic acid is admixed with a basic divalent metal compound that is an oxide, hydroxide or carbonate of Zn.sup.+2 or Cu.sup.+2 in the absence of added solvent or other diluent. The divalent metal carboxylate so produced is used as a biologically available and economical source of trace metals for supplementation in animal diets.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1995Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Kemin Industries, Inc.Inventors: Christopher E. Two powder synthesis of hydrotalcite and hydrotalcite-like compounds with monovalen inorganic anions
Patent number: 5776424Abstract: There is provided a method for making a monovalent inorganic anion-intercalated hydrotalcite-like material by first reacting a magnesium-containing powder and a transition alumina powder in a carboxylic acid-free, aqueous suspension to form a meixnerite intermediate. This intermediate is then contacted with a monovalent inorganic anion, in its acid or soluble salt form, to make a hydrotalcite-like material. The latter is then separated from the suspension. Representative materials include a bromide-, chloride-, nitrate- or vanadate-intercalated, hydrotalcite-like material.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1996Date of Patent: July 7, 1998Assignee: Aluminum Company of AmericaInventors: Edward S. Martin, John M. Stinson, Vito Cedro, III, William E. Horn, Jr. -
