The tungsten hexa(dialkyldithiocarbamates) of the invention can be used as additives for prolonging the life of hydraulic oils or permanent gear lubrication oils.

Paraformaldehyde as donor is preferably added in an amount of about 0.1 to 2 weight percent based upon the EBDC, together with a co-polymerization agent such as melamine or hydroquinone. The stabilized EBDC product contains aldehyde, co-polymerization agent, mono- and /or dimethylolethylenethioureas and polymerization products thereof, and less than about 0.015 weight percent ETU per se.

The acidification of the alkali metal salt of dithiocarbamate is completed, generally, at a temperature within the range from about -5 to about 5.degree. C.

More particularly, this invention relates to compounds of the formula WS(S.sub.2) (S.sub.2 CNR.sub.2).sub.2 which are mononuclear, seven-coordinate, neutral W(VI) complexes containing only seven sulfur atoms in the Mo coordination sphere. R is hydrogen, an alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl group or mixture thereof. Preferably all of the R's are the same and are alkyl groups. These compounds are useful as catalysts or catalyst precursors for removing sulfur from sulfur containing hydrocarbons.

    Abstract: Certain metal salts of certain substituted pyrazole dithiocarbamates are employed as the active nitrification inhibitor in the presence of reduced nitrogen fertilizers. Compositions containing these salts can be applied to the surface of the soil and can remain on said soil surface for up to 3 days or more without mechanical incorporation into the soil and retain at least about 70 percent of the pyrazole as the salt in the composition.
