Patent number: 9161492Abstract: A header has a middle section disposed on a main frame, at least two side sections adjacent to the middle section, a rear panel extending perpendicularly to the main frame, a flexible finger bar extending across a width of the header and a conveyor device disposed behind the finger bar. The conveyer device is designed on the side sections as a continuous conveyor belt disposed adjacent to the middle section in order to transport crop cut by the finger bar laterally in the direction of the middle section. The side sections are formed as a plurality of supporting arms swivellably disposed on the main frame that support the finger bar. Each side section has a plurality of supporting elements for supporting the conveyor belt. Each of the supporting elements is supported in a bearing point to be displaceable in the axial direction relative to the main frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2014Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: CLAAS Selbstfahrende Erntemaschinen GmbHInventor: Christian Fuechtling

Patent number: 5520861Abstract: A preform for impregnation of a metal or ceramic matrix material comprising a multiplicity of reinforcement particles bonded together so as to define a three-dimensional, open-cell reticulum comprising a plurality of randomly oriented thread-like portions interconnected one to the next via a plurality of nodes. A reinforced composite made from such preform and method of making the preform is disclosed/claimed wherein the reinforcement particles are mixed with prepolymers used to produce a fugitive binder for the particles comprising a foamed polymer, and the particles align themselves with the polymer portions of the resulting foam.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1995Date of Patent: May 28, 1996Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Bob R. Patent number: 5339526Abstract: A resistance spool (16) for holding lines (38,40) in a line trimmer head (10) is disclosed. The spool (16) has a rotatable main body (19) having lines (38,40) wound thereon. The wound lines (38,40) have free ends (42,44) which extend radially from the main body (19). Clamp portions (32,34,36), on the main body (19), restrain the free ends (42,44) of the lines (38,40). The clamp portions (32,34,36) restrain the free ends (42,44) so that the lines (38,40) do not unwind from the spool (16) when the main body (19) is not rotating at a sufficient speed and allows the free ends (42,44) of lines (38,40) to pay out from the spool (16) when the main body (19) is rotating at a sufficient speed. Preferably, the main body (19) includes a hub (20) and axially disposed flanges (22,24,26) extending radially outwardly from the hub (20). The flanges ( 22,24,26) cooperate with one another to pinch the line (38,40) such that the line (38,40) may not unravel during installation of the spool (16) within a line trimmer head (10).Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1993Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Assignee: Ryobi Outdoor ProductsInventor: Robert G. Patent number: 4888871Abstract: A driving head for a line cutter device includes a base part; a spool driver; mounting means for mounting a spool, on the spool driver; and a set of teeth circumferentially distributed on the spool driver. An operating member is connected to the base part and having oppositely a first and a second end and a first detent at the first end and a second detent at the second end, the detents being adapted for cooperating selectively with one of the teeth of the set of teeth on the spool driver, the first end being heavier than the second end. Biasing means biases the operating member.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1989Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Centiforce (Proprietary) LimitedInventor: Fillippus T. Engelbrecht

Patent number: 4660286Abstract: A line trimmer for cutting vegetation has features to enable automatic advancement of line increments while rotating. The trimmer has a housing with an aperture on its periphery. A spool coiled with a flexible cutting line is located in the housing. The free end of the line extends out the aperture into a cutting plane. A set of drive members are located in the housing near the center in a circular array. A drive link is carried in the housing radially outward from the drive members. The drive link will move into contact with the drive members to lock the spool and housing together for rotation. Increased centrifugal force urges the drive link outward, allowing the spool and housing to slip relative to each other to feed out additional line. Stop members are located on the inner side of the housing outer wall. These stop members stop further slippage and force the drive link back into engagement with the drive members.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1985Date of Patent: April 28, 1987Assignee: Nylon Line Cutters (Pty.) Patent number: 4498278Abstract: A swath pick-up for a harvester provides a drive for the transverse toothed members which acts to rotate the toothed members about a transverse axis while moving them longitudinally of the axis. The drive comprises a pair of plates arranged at opposed ends of the transverse member each supporting a plurality of pairs of bevel gears mounted such that one bevel gear rotates with the plate while the other is rotated by rotation of the first to rotate the respective transverse member on a crank. The bevel gears are inter-connected either by a shaft or by an elbow casing. The first bevel gear is either fixed to the plate for rotation therewith or is rotated by an internal cam track provided on a cam plate parallel to the rotatable support plate.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1983Date of Patent: February 12, 1985Inventor: David Friesen
