  • Patent number: 6327840
Abstract: A baler pick-up reel includes a reel shaft to which is fixed a center toothbar support. A first set of toothbars are located to one side of the center toothbar support and respectively have stub shafts at first ends which are respectively received in a first set of equi-angularly spaced bosses forming part of the toothbar support and projecting in a direction opposite to the first set of toothbars. Similarly, a second set of toothbars are located on an opposite side of the center toothbar support and respectively include stub shafts at first ends that are respectively received in a second set of equi-angularly spaced bosses forming part of the toothbar support and projecting in a direction opposite to the second set of toothbars. A plurality of teeth are mounted to each toothbar and have tines which are evenly spaced across the working width of the reel.

  • Patent number: 4182097
Abstract: A hay stacking machine having a platform for supporting a stack of hay. A radial trough extends from the center to the outer peripheral edge of the platform for accommodating hay being transported to it from a rake pickup. The trough includes a longitudinally extending side wall and a bottom wall which extends laterally to merge with the platform top surface. The bottom wall merges at its forward inner end with a portion of the bottom wall extending upwardly to merge with the platform surface. A portion of the platform surface extends over the vertical wall of the trough and over reciprocating out of phase feed teeth in the bottom wall and vertical wall of the trough. An annular frame extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. A plurality of upright posts are attached to the annular frame. Compression arms extending to the center of the platform are pivoted on the posts and engage hay located on the platform.

  • Patent number: 4141288
Abstract: A hay stacking machine having a platform for supporting a stack of hay. The platform has a trough extended from its center to the outer peripheral edge for accommodating hay. A hay feeding mechanism having reciprocating teeth operates to move hay from the outer edge of the platform generally toward the center thereof. One embodiment of the machine has a movable elevator member located in the center of the platform operable to move hay upwardly to build the center of the stack. An annular cage extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. The cage has a plurality of upright posts carrying compression arms which extend toward the center of the platform. The pressure arms move with the cage and engage the hay located on the platform to sweep it along the platform top surface causing a stack of hay to form from the bottom up. The unloading of the hay stack from the platform is accomplished by opening gate sections of the cage and tipping the platform rearwardly and downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4091603
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for baling a crop. The crop is fed into the top of a holder and a pair of compressing members are alternately actuated to compress the crop as it is progressively accumulated. Each member compresses all of the crop underlying it and maintains a predetermined compression until after the other member comes into operation. The compression members are in the form of rakes having tines which are projected and withdrawn through opposite side walls of the holder.

  • Patent number: 4077189
Abstract: A farm tractor apparatus having twin front mounted adjustable hay rakes supported on the front of a conventional-type farm tractor and a hay baler mounted for pulling by said same tractor. The twin hay rakes will produce double windrows for reception by the towed hay baler of the rolled bale type for simultaneously baling two rows of hay. The hay rakes have adjustment means at the rear portions thereof to vary the width and size of the windrows produced as well as front adjustment means for varying the overall sweep width and the front expanse in order to drive the apparatus over normal roads and through normal size gate structures. The hay rakes are of the floating type and have gauge and support rollers associated therewith and being part of the combination. A feature of this invention is in the provision of hydraulic power means for allowing the tractor operator to make some of the aforementioned adjustments while in the driver's seat.

  • Patent number: 4022004
Abstract: A portable tiltable platform includes a trough extending to the peripheral edge for communication with hay being transported to it from a rake pickup which feeds it to an auger and in turn to a compressing roller and then into the inlet end of the trough at the peripheral edge of the platform when the platform is in the horizontal transport position. The trough includes a longitudinally extending side wall and a bottom wall which extends laterally to merge with the platform top surface. The bottom wall merges at its forward inner end with a portion extending upwardly to merge with the platform surface. A portion of the platform surface extends over the vertical wall of the trough and over reciprocating out of phase feed teeth in the bottom wall and vertical wall of the trough. An annular frame extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. A plurality of posts are provided which have compression arms extending to the center of the platform which receives hay from the outlet end of the trough.

  • Patent number: 3965660
Abstract: A stack forming apparatus comprising a chassis with a stack forming container thereon and a crop pick up means for directing harvested crop into the container. The stack forming container includes a pivoted roof having sloped forward and rearward sections and actuators for pivoting the same through varying arcs to provide a resultant stack sloped at the front and rear edges thereof. The container contains a pivoted floor and a push-out fork mechanism which moves the stack within the container causing pivoting of the floor. The pivoted rear door at the top edge of the container will be opened either by tilting of the container floor or operating of a latch means to engage a door pivoting linkages with raising of the roof to facilitate discharge of the stack after formation.
