Abstract: New insecticidal (.beta.-phenylvinyl)cyclopropanecarboxylates having on the phenyl ring one or more substituents such as halogen, cyano, nitro, lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio, aryloxy, arylthio, lower haloalkyl, di(lower alkyl)amino, or methylenedioxy are described, and their preparation and insecticidal utility are exemplified.

Abstract: 5-Gluconamido-2,4,6-triiodo-N-methylisophthalamic acid, 3-acetamido-2,4,6-triiodo-5-trishydroxymethylacetamido-benzoic acid, related compounds and salts and esters thereof are useful as x-ray contrast agents. The corresponding acyl halides are useful as intermediates.

The foregoing compounds are useful for preventing or treating allergic conditions in a mammal. Methods for the preparation and use of said compounds are disclosed.
