  • Patent number: 8764688
Abstract: A sleeve that provides mechanical stimulation to the arm to prevent bone density loss. A primary goal of this product is to prevent bone density loss that occurs during extended space travel. For one embodiment, only the predefined frequency specifications had to be met (between 40 Hz and 60 Hz). By meeting these frequencies for a duration of 30 minutes the product will theoretically prevent the loss of bone density. Additionally, clinical trials will need to be conducted before this product can be marketed. The product includes of several mechanical vibrators attached to a sleeve. The vibrators are small unbalanced-mass motors which are similar to those found in cell phones. The motors are encased in dome shaped housings designed to reduce lateral vibrations along the arm. The product is controlled using an Arduino board attached to the sleeve that actuates the motors. The motors, in turn, provide the specified frequency to the arm for 30 minutes.

The microprocessor is coupled to receive data from the plurality of force sensors, and is programmed to actuate the plurality of vibration actuators to provide a first characteristic vibration to the user's foot based on the sensed forces. A method of improving the gait of a user includes enabling the user to ambulate with the vibratory feedback system secured to the user's foot, and providing a first characteristic vibration to the user's foot based on the sensed forces using the vibratory feedback system.

Abstract: A hand-held internal therapeutic massager includes a rod having a first portion that defines a curve and a second portion that is substantially straight. The first portion of the rod is adapted to be inserted into a patient's body. A curvature of the curve defined by the first portion of the rod is sufficient to prevent the second portion of the rod from entering a patient's body. A handle is located on the second portion of the rod and a pressure applicator on the first portion of the rod is adapted to be inserted into the patient's body for engagement with a localized area of myofascial tissue. A vibratory device is disposed within the handle and is operable to generate vibrations. The vibrations generated by the vibratory device are conducted through the rod to the pressure applicator to the localized area of myofascial tissue.

Abstract: A device for use by an individual for sexual pleasure varying in form, i.e. shape, during its use and allowing for the user to select multiple variations of form either discretely or in combination and for these dynamic variations to be controllable simultaneously and interchangeably while being transparent to the normal use of the device, including the ability to insert, withdraw, rotate, and actuate the variable features manually or remotely. According to embodiments of the invention localized and global variations of devices are implemented using fluidics and electromagnetic pumps/valves wherein a fluid is employed such that controlling the pressure of the fluid results in the movement of an element within the device or the expansion/contraction of an element within the device.

Abstract: In a conventional computer mouse integrated with a massager, it is necessary to hold the mouse by a hand when massaging the other body positions than a palm. A massager integrated type optical computer mouse is structured such that a bottom surface portion of the optical computer mouse is formed so as to be depressed as a concave shape to a main body side, a massaging vibrator is arranged in a protruding manner at the concavely depressed position, and any one of operational switches of the computer mouse is changed to a switch for turning on or off a power supply to the massaging vibrator, and changing a vibration pattern, by a selection switch. Accordingly, an operator can bring the concavely depressed position of the computer mouse into close contact with an approximately convex body position so as to massage while gripping the computer mouse by a palm.
