    Abstract: A blood sample collecting device includes a vacuum blood sampling chamber having a blood container disposed therein, and a vacuum pump for evacuating the vacuum blood sampling chamber to collect a blood sample into the blood container under a vacuum developed in the vacuum blood sampling chamber. The amount of collected blood in the blood container, and the vacuum in the vacuum blood sampling chamber is lowered below a preset pressure on the condition that a rate of increase in the measured amount of collected blood does not reach a predetermined normal rate of increase.

    Abstract: A cylindrical, shatter-resistant, pre-sterilized suction tube in which a vacuum is to be selectively established by the user for automatically drawing a fluid sample, such as blood, or the like, by way of a hypodermic needle. The suction tube has a seal member detachably connected across a distal end thereof and a tab member detachably connected across a proximal end. A piston is located at the interior of the tube between the seal and tab members. An elongated retracting element extends between the detachable tab member and the piston. Application by the user of an axial pulling force to the tab member after the tab member has been detached from the proximal end of the suction tube causes a corresponding axial movement of the piston towards the open proximal end of the tube for expulsing air therefrom to evacuate the tube. The piston is locked at the proximal end to completely seal the tube and preserve the integrity of the vacuum which has been established therewithin.

A suction port on the sealing cap is connected to the fluid collection bag, which consists of a laminar flexible plastic bag having an air permeable, liquid impermeable patch or portion through which air may pass for purposes of providing a vacuum suction, yet the collected fluids will remain in the bag. The suction power is provided by a vacuum pump which is electronically regulated by periodically energizing and de-energizing the pump to conserve power supply energy.

    Abstract: A prefilled ampoule-syringe including an ampoule body having a smaller inner dimension than the body and a stopper means associated with an external capsule for closing the ampoule. The stopper is provided with an internal conduit having at least one transverse branch opening into a longitudinal branch between the interior of the capsule body and a needle-holding tip. The capsule is arranged for actual movement from a position within the neck where it is in a closed position to an open injection position within the ampoule body. When the capsule is in the position in the neck of the ampoule, the contents of the ampoule are in contact only with the walls of the ampoule and the inner surface of the stopper which faces into the neck. When the stopper is moved to injection position, the contents of the ampoule pass through the transverse passage and down the longitudinal passage to the needle holding tip for injection into a patient.
