The inner layer includes wicking material for wicking fluid from the inner surface to the outer surface away from the subject's breast. An intermediate layer is disposed over the outer surface of the inner layer. The intermediate layer includes an absorbent material for absorbing the fluid wicked from the subject's breast by the wicking material of the inner layer. An outer layer is disposed over the intermediate layer. The outer layer includes a liquid-impermeable material for trapping the fluid absorbed by the intermediate layer within the breast pad.

In one embodiment, the absorptive breast bandage comprises a half-moon shaped planar absorbent body configured for absorbing secreted bodily fluids from a post-surgical patient's surgical incision on the human breast. The half-moon shaped absorbent body includes a first surface and a second surface and it is configured to draw the secreted bodily fluids from the post-surgical patient's surgical incision and store the secreted bodily fluids.

In one embodiment the breast wrap comprises a panel of material, means for fastening the panel in a continuous band, one or more absorbent regions on a first side of the panel, and first and second adjustment means independently operable to adjust the tightness of the band along first and second adjustment regions proximate the top and bottom of the band respectively. The assembly includes (a) an absorptive skirt bandage attachable to a lower portion of the bra cup inside surface for absorbing secreted bodily fluids from a post-surgical patient's surgical incision, (b) a nipple tube bandage for encasing and absorbing secreted bodily fluids from the patient's reconstructed nipple, (c) a half-moon dome bandage interposable between the nipple tube bandage and the bra cup inside surface, which covers and protects the nipple tube bandage adhered to the patient's breast skin, and (d) an areola pad bandage interposable between the patient's breast skin and the bra cup inside surface for absorbing secretions from a re-pigmented tattoo region around the patient's reconstructed nipple when the bra is being worn by the patient.

Abstract: Various forms of skin irritations are treated with an appropriately configured and sized pad provided with a chilled skim milk additive which is useful for treating skin irritations such as diaper rash, irritations caused by incontinence, breast irritations experienced by nursing mothers, hemorrhoidal irritation, and skin irritations resulting from burns, insect bites, and the like. The irritated skin can be treated by applying the pad directly to the irritated skin. The treatment can continue during normal daily activities in various ways. The pad can take the form of breast pads that can be worn inside of a nursing bra, or it can take the form of an adhesive strip that can be adhered to the skin at the affected site. For treating diaper rash or incontinence-caused irritations, the pad can be placed in diapers or in suitable incontinence undergarments.
