Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide an absorbent article that is excellent in anti-odor effect at the time of disposal. A pants-type disposable diaper includes an anti-odor tape that has a first gas barrier layer coupled to the pants-type disposable diaper and a second gas barrier layer that is stuck in a separable manner to either front or back surface of the first gas barrier layer via an adhesive agent containing an anti-odor agent. The anti-odor tape takes an anti-odor measure by separating the second gas barrier layer from the first gas barrier layer to expose the adhesive agent to the outside at the time of disposal of the pants-type disposable diaper.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a diaper with removable waistbands, including a first diaper body disposed in an abdominal area, which is in front on a basis of a waist; removable waistbands, which are connected to both sides of the first diaper body, formed of a stretchable material and configured to be removable by perforated lines formed between the first diaper body and the removable waistbands; waistband Velcro portions provided at ends of the removable waistbands; a second diaper body which is connected to the first diaper body and disposed in a buttocks area, which is in rear on the basis of the waist; combination wings connected to both sides of the second diaper body; combination wing Velcro portions provided at ends of the combination wings; and wrinkle connection portions which connect the first diaper body and the second diaper body in a wrinkle manner.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for making apertured elastic laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The methods and apparatuses may be close coupled such that materials may advance directly between aperturing and bonding operations. Such close coupling of devices may help to more precisely control the positions of the apertures in substrates relative to positions of apertures opposing substrates and/or bonds in the assembled laminate. The methods and apparatuses herein may also provide the ability to orient protrusions or protuberances in the substrates created by the aperturing process so as to extend inward and away from both outer surfaces of the assembled laminate. In turn, the assembly processes may be conducted so as to help mitigate reductions in softness that might otherwise result from the aperturing process in the assembled laminate.

Abstract: An absorbent article includes a stretchable sheet that is a laminate of a non-stretchable first sheet layer, a non-stretchable second sheet layer, and an elastic film disposed between the first and second sheet layers, and the elastic film is stretchable at least in the front-back direction. The first sheet layer is bonded to the second sheet layer at a large number of joints directly or through the elastic film and the joints are arrayed at intervals. The stretchable sheet is contracted by a contraction force of the elastic film and can be stretched by an external force applied in the front-back direction. The leg portion is also contracted by a contraction force of the elastic film and can be stretched by an external force applied in the width direction. The leg portions and adjoined regions have different joint area rates and thereby have different stretching stresses.

Abstract: An absorber article includes: a body-contact part having a canal member which has a stretchable and shrinkable, left and right pair of head sections extending in the front-rear direction, and which also has a canal sheet having left and right edges joined to the left and right pair of head sections and also having a center section hanging downward, the body contact part also having affixing members which affix the canal member to the wearer's body in such a manner that the head sections of the canal member are in contact with the wearer's skin; and body-non-contacting part having a sheet-like leakage prevention body and also having an absorber disposed on the upper side of the leakage prevention body. The absorber article is also provided with a passage for transporting bodily fluids from the upper side of the canal sheet to the absorber.

Abstract: A pull-on disposable diaper includes a front side portion; a back side portion; a crotch portion; a waist opening; and a pair of leg openings. An edge portion of the waist opening of the front side portion includes a recessed portion that is recessed in the lengthwise direction toward the crotch portion with respect to an edge portion of the waist opening of the back side portion. A tape member is fixed on a non-skin side surface of the back side portion so as to be extendable toward the waist opening in the lengthwise direction, the tape member being used for fixing the diaper in a small state in the lengthwise direction when the diaper is disposed of. The recessed portion is provided at a position corresponding to the tape member in the lateral direction.

Abstract: A pants-type wearing article that provides effective buttocks covering having a front panel, a rear panel and a crotch panel connected to the front panel and the rear panel so as to cover a crotch region of the article wearer. The rear panel is formed with a rear waist covering portion having a dimension in the longitudinal direction substantially the same as a dimension of the front panel and a buttocks covering portion contiguously extending downward from the rear waist covering portion and adapted to cover at least partially the wearer's buttocks. The buttocks covering portion has buttock elastics extending in the transverse direction. The buttocks covering portion and the crotch panel are joined to each other in a zone defined between the gasket cuffs opposite to each other in the transverse direction and not joined to each other at portions in which the gasket cuffs are disposed.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a planar pad manufactured from three layers, each layer made from materials of differing properties. A contact layer being safe for a neonatal infant's skin is the top layer. The middle layer is an absorption layer positioned immediately below the contact layer. The absorption layer is of a two-part construction having a first half and a corresponding second half which abuts the first half. The absorption layer is operable for dispersing and containing fluids within the pad. The bottom layer is a waterproof barrier layer which is posited directly below the absorbency layer, preferably constructed of flashspun high-density polyethylene, and is also a two part construction. An internal pull tab maintains the pad in a single assembly. Upon removing the pull tab, the pad assembly splits into two separate assembly halves.

Abstract: An absorbent article having a waistband which is attached to first and second body portions of the article. The first body portion is attached to the waistband by at least a fastening means wherein the article assumes a pant diaper form. The waistband has a reception surface and a perforation. The perforation allows the reception surface to be separated into first and second belt portions. At least a part of the reception surface is located on each belt portion, thereby allowing the article to assume a belt diaper form. The first belt portion comprises at least one fastening means. The second fastening means is arranged so that the absorbent article can be readily converted from a pant diaper form to a belt diaper form.

Abstract: The present invention provides an absorbent article in which a joining strength between sheet-shaped members is improved. A joint portion which joins a front trunk-surrounding region and a rear trunk-surrounding region of the absorbent article to each other has a first joint region arranged continuously along an outer edge and the second joint portion arranged continuously in a region closer to the outer edge than the first joint region, substantially parallel to the first joint region. The sum of the areas of the plurality of first joint portions in the first joint region is less than the sum of the areas of the second joint portions in the second joint region.

Abstract: A diaper having a front portion with at least one line of weakness adapted to be torn and at least one umbilical cover defined in part by the at least one line of weakness. The at least one umbilical cover is moveable from a starting position to an anchored position upon tearing the at least one line of weakness. The diaper has at least one umbilical cover anchor adapted to maintain the at least one umbilical cover in the anchored position.

Abstract: A diaper for treatment of diaper rash and methods of using such a diaper to treat diaper rash are provided. The diaper may include a first layer having inner and outer surfaces and including a front portion, a rear portion, and a middle portion extending between the front and rear portions and configured to be positioned between the legs of a user when worn. A liquid absorbent element may be coupled to the inner surface of the first layer and disposed proximate at least the front and middle portions. An opening may be defined in the rear portion of the first layer to expose at least a portion of the user's buttocks to open air when worn. An air and liquid permeable mesh layer may be permanently or removeably attached adjacent the opening and may cover at least part of the opening.

A liquid impermeable backsheet is joined to the facing layer at the periphery. The liquid impermeable backsheet has a garment facing surface. A fastening means is disposed on at least a portion of the garment facing surface of the liquid impermeable backsheet. The fastening means defines attachment zones. At least a portion of the first absorbent layer is decoupled from the attachment zones of the fluid impermeable backsheet.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a pre-fastened adjustable pant-like disposable absorbent undergarment including a front body panel having a line of weakness is disclosed. The method includes providing a moving web having a waist end and a leg-cut-out end. The moving web is weakened to form a line of weakness defining a leading portion of the moving web and a trailing portion of the moving web at the line of weakness. Desirably, the line of weakness includes a series of weakened areas having a combined length in a cross-machine direction at least 85% of a distance between the waist end and the leg cut-out end. The method further includes passing it through a fastener attachment station to bridge the leading portion and the trailing portion of the moving web together with a fastener assembly.

This includes a contact layer having a first and corresponding second portion. The second portion overlaps the first portion sufficient to create a first overlay. Such contact layer may be made of fibers which include silver nano-particulates. The contact layer may also include a coating made of TEFLON or similar material. The second layer is an absorbency layer positioned immediately below the contact layer. The absorbency layer being made of natural woven bamboo fiber. In addition, the absorbency layer may be two-part construction having a first absorbent portion and a corresponding second absorbent portion which abuts the first absorbent portion, wherein both absorbent portions have fused sides to reduce fraying. The third layer is a waterproof barrier layer which is posited directly below the absorbency layer, preferably constructed of TYVEK.

Some embodiments may include first and second sets of interchangeable corner tabs that are releasably attachable to the forward and rearward waist portions. The second set of corner tabs may be sized differently than the first set of corner tabs such that the diaper size is adjustable depending on whether the first or second set of corner tabs are used.

The side panel web is attached at opposite width borders of the chassis web and has one or more complementary fasteners opposing each other in the longitudinal axis direction of the garment chassis web. The garment can be folded to place the complementary fasteners in releasable engagement and individuated from the combined chassis and side panel webs.

Each side panel comprises at least two material segments which are connected to each other by a lap seam wherein said material segments define a distal segment and a proximal segment in the lateral direction. The device of an embodiment includes a removable first layer, having primary and secondary apertures and a second layer having a releaseable adhesive on an inner surface that secures the first and second layers, a flap aligned with the primary aperture, and an integrally formed removable tab. The device also includes a sheet between the two layers. In a first configuration, the sheet is aligned with the primary aperture such that a sample is deposited thereon when the device is used to wipe one's anus, and the removable tab is aligned with the secondary aperture such that a second sample is deposited thereon. Subsequently, the first layer is discarded, thereby exposing the adhesive on the inner surface of the second layer. The device is placed in a second configuration by folding the inner surface upon itself. Thus, primary and secondary samples are enclosed.

At least a portion of the first absorbent layer is decoupled from the attachment zones of the fluid impermeable backsheet.

Abstract: The invention provides an absorbent article that is small and that can be easily worn by a user and a method for producing the absorbent article. The absorbent article that is used in abutment against a user's body includes: an absorbent body for absorbing fluid; and an absorbent-article main body whose face on a side close to the user's body in use is joined to the absorbent body. The absorbent body has a longitudinal direction, a width direction, and a thickness direction. One end section of the absorbent body in the longitudinal direction is undetachably joined to the absorbent-article main body, and another end section of the absorbent body in the longitudinal direction is detachably joined to a portion inside an outer edge of the absorbent-article main body. The absorbent body has a non-joined section that is not joined to the absorbent-article main body, between the joined section on a side close to the other end section and the outer edge of the absorbent-article main body.

Abstract: A pant-type absorbent article having a first body panel and a second body panel, the first and second body panels being interconnected by side panels. The respective side panel is formed by a bridge member having a first longitudinal edge portion attached to the first body panel and a second longitudinal edge portion attached to the second body panel, the bridge before use of the article being folded in an accordion-like fashion and can be extended and unfolded when the article is to be used so as to form the side panels of the article. In one embodiment at least one of the bridge members is refastenably attached to one body panel, wherein a first fastening member is arranged on the bridge member at or close to one longitudinal edge portion thereof and a complementary second fastening member is arranged on the respective body panel.

Abstract: An absorbent article comprising a stretchable fastening member is disclosed. The absorbent article comprises a chassis and a stretchable fastening member. The chassis extends longitudinally and laterally and comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet and an absorbent core disposed therebetween. The stretchable fastening member comprises a fixed portion permanently joined to the chassis, a distal portion provided with a fastening material and a stretchable panel positioned between the fixed portion and the distal portion. The stretchable fastening member is joined to the chassis such that the distal portion is positioned laterally outwardly from the fixed portion in the flat-out configuration of the stretchable fastening member. The stretchable panel of the stretchable fastening member comprises a first stretchable zone and a second stretchable zone disposed in the lateral direction.

Abstract: A washable diaper having an outer article with an inner liner system detachably coupled to the outer article. The outer article has front and back ends, with opposing side edges connecting the ends, and inner and outer surfaces, with at least one fastening mechanism on the inner surface proximate to at least one of the ends. The inner liner system has first and second ends and includes at least one washable article, so that when assembled with the outer article, the first and second ends of the inner liner system align with the front and back ends of the outer article to be detachably coupled. The inner liner system may also include a liner member and/or at least one absorbent pad, configured to be placed within the washable article. A method of assembly of the washable diaper having an outer article and inner lining system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent article adapted to be worn about a lower torso of a human body and having a chassis, a non-removable absorbent core component disposed in a crotch region of the chassis, and a replaceable absorbent core component disposed in capillary liquid communication with the non-removable absorbent core component. The replaceable absorbent core component may be removed and a like component may be substituted in place of the removed component without the removal of the absorbent article from the wearer. The replaceable absorbent core component may be disposed inside an openable chassis pocket, with access for its removal and replacement provided by an aperture in a backsheet, an openable end of an external pocket, or an openable end of an internal pocket formed at an area of a waist end edge where the backsheet and a topsheet may be separated. Additional replaceable absorbent core components may also be incorporated.
