Abstract: A cooling unit includes an evaporator with a cool storage function, and a drain case disposed below the evaporator. Cool storage material containers and outer fins of the evaporator have respective outward projecting portions which project from the refrigerant flow tubes toward the leeward side. The drain case includes a condensed water drain portion which drains condensed water generated on the evaporator from at least one of the lower end of the outward projecting portion of each cool storage material container and the lower end of the outward projecting portion of each outer fin. The cooling unit is preferably used in a refrigeration cycle which constitutes an air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle in which an engine serving as a drive source for a compressor is temporarily stopped when the vehicle is stopped.

Abstract: The invention provides a condensate drain assembly comprising one or more reservoirs, a conduit, and a port defining an inlet to a drip channel. The reservoir is preferably constructed to have a floor that is shaped in a manner that allows the collected condensate to be directed to the conduit. For example, the floor may be partially concave and defined by a highest point at an inside wall of the reservoir that is about opposite to the entrance to the conduit and a lowest point at a bottom of the entrance to the conduit. Additionally, the floor at the entrance to the conduit may be further defined by a cone that is open at a top and a side entering the conduit to allow the condensate to be funneled to the conduit from the reservoir.

The upper baffle arrangement comprises a series of parallel, diversion structures, and the lower baffle arrangement comprises a series of parallel trough structures. The trough structures are staggered relative to the diversion structures such that an upwardly directed air stream is directed through the trough and diversion structures into the energy recovery system. Condensate, formed via the energy recovery system, is directed from the energy recovery system through spacing the diversion structures into the trough structures. The trough structures are in fluid communication with a common outlet that directs the condensate stream away from the condensate collection system. Certain condensate collection methodology is further contemplated.
