Abstract: Systems and methods for replacing coolant of an x-ray tube assembly having a closed cooling system include a service port that is operatively installed in the cooling system and a vacuum assisted service kit that is operatively coupled to the service port. Used coolant is drained from the x-ray tube assembly, and thereafter a vacuum is drawn on the x-ray tube assembly via the service kit. Replacement coolant within a vacuum tank of the service kit is degassed under a vacuum. The degassed replacement coolant is provided into the cooling system from the vacuum tank, preferably by pushing under pressure with an inert gas to prevent the introduction of any air into the replacement coolant. The replacement coolant may be pressurized in the cooling system with the inert gas. Thereafter, the service port is closed, and the service kit may be disconnected from the service port.

  • Patent number: 8028537
Abstract: Disclosed exemplary solid state light fixtures use optical cavities to combine or integrate light from LEDs or the like. In such a fixture, the cavity is formed by a light transmissive structure having a volume, and a diffuse reflector that covers a contoured portion of the structure. A heat sink member supports a flexible circuit board so as to position the light emitters to couple light to the transmissive structure and provide effective heat dissipation. The circuit board has flexible tabs mounting the emitters. When installed in the fixture, the tabs bend and the emitters press against a sufficiently rigid periphery of the light transmissive structure. TIM may be compressed between the heat sink member and the opposite surface of each tab. Heat conductive surface pads and heat conductors through vias through the tabs conduct heat from the emitters to the heat sink member, e.g. through the TIM.

Abstract: A configurable refrigerator comprises a control box provided with a compressor and a fan, a plurality of cooling units that are mutually connected and are connected to the control box through fastening devices, gas tubes connected between the control box and the cooling units to allow a low-temperature gas generated by the control box to enter the cooling units and return to the control box after circulation in the cooling units, and a control panel of the control box, settled on the control box or any of the cooling units. Therein, the control box can be assembled with an adjustable number of the cooling unit. Thus, the number of the cooling units can be increased or decreased as needed, thereby achieving easy assembly, disassembly and reconfiguration of the configurable refrigerator and the control panel.

Abstract: A cableless control system for an automobile air conditioner includes a slide pot potentiometer assembly for connection to an actuator arm on the back of a dashboard mounted control assembly. The position of the slide pot potentiometer assembly creates an electrical resistance signal which governs the position of the devices which moves the variable mechanical portions of the automobile air conditioner. The shape of the linear slide pot potentiometer assembly allows for the use of existing hardware and eliminates the need to run sheathed cables from the dashboard mounted control panel assembly to the mechanically variable portions which govern the operation of the automobile air conditioner.

Abstract: An apparatus for safely and efficiently purging refrigerant lines interconnected with residential and light commercial air conditioning systems. Enhanced safety is achieved by enabling the operator to conduct purge operations away from enclosed areas such as attics and crawlspaces. Efficient use of solvent is achieved by simultaneously connecting a refrigerant line connector to the evaporator end of both suction line and liquid line and discharging solvent and compressed gas through a solvent bridge connected to the compressor end of the liquid line. Thorough contaminant removal enables retrofitting air conditioning systems for use with newer, legally required refrigerants.

  • Patent number: 7937963
Abstract: The present invention is an architecturally advanced chiller unit having solid, insulated exterior walls adapted for the attachment of aesthetic surface treatments, pedestal supports for a bottom intake of ambient air, and separate chambers for electrical and hydraulic components. The roof houses inset modular fans adapted for topside maintenance and the roof also allows service accessibility to heat rejection components housed within the chiller unit enclosure. Heat removal is accomplished through angled heat exchangers also housed within the enclosure. Each enclosure has an end accessible vestibule that house electrical and refrigerant components. The chiller units design is also intended to allow the side by side placement of two or more units, for modularity. The improved aesthetic appearance of these units also eliminates the use of surrounding architectural parapet walls or screening units. The improved space effectiveness and modularity shall provide greater flexibility in building construction.
