  • Patent number: 5080518
Abstract: An earring device comprises an ornamental element bearing means from which at least two thin ornamental elements are hung. These ornamental elements are thin cross-sectional (x,y -axes) depictions of animals, which when arranged on the bearing means, provide a three-dimensional illusion. In a preferred embodiment, the animal head and front quarter are depicted on a first thin ornamental element, and the animal rear quarter is depicted on a second element. When hung from the bearing means, spacers are provided to create a separation between the thin ornamental elements in a z-axes. This separation creates an illusion of depth along the z-axis, leading to a three dimensional depiction of the animal.

  • Patent number: 5018053
Abstract: The present invention discloses illuminated jewelry which is adapted for use as an earring, lapel pin broach, tie clip, cuff link, etc. A light source, such as an LED, is molded with a non-conducting, light transmissive material, which is preferably faceted to provide multiple reflected images of the illuminated light source. A power source, such as a small battery, is held by a retainer which provides electrical contact with one terminal of the power source. A lead finding is pivotally secured to the retainer at one end, and is secured at the opposite end to the light source. A lead post is secured to the light source, and positioned to contact the opposite terminal of the power source to energize the light source when the retainer is moved to a closed position. When the retainer is moved to an open position, the circuit between the power supply and the light source is broken. A biasing means is disposed between the retainer and the lead finding, to urge the illuminated jewelry open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4218894
Abstract: An earring specially adapted for pierced ears is disclosed. Apart from the normal ornament, post and retaining clutch provided in such pierced earring constructions, the present construction includes a secondary ornament mounted to be both rotatable with respect to its mounting means and adjustably slidable towards and away from the first ornament so as to be positionable below the wearer's earlobe. Such is accomplished by the provision of a secondary clutch attached to the primary clutch and in which a post portion of the secondary ornament is rotatably and slidably secured. In this fashion, novel and unique ornamentation effects may be provided on the wearer's ear.

  • Patent number: 4086786
Abstract: A first support for a first decorative dangle is provided with a plurality of links supporting said dangle. A second support is also provided with a plurality of links which support a second dangle of the same shape as the first or a different shape. The two supports are interconnected by an attaching element which in one embodiment of the invention is designed for use with pierced ears. In this first embodiment, the attaching element is an elongated pin which is received in a passageway formed in the second support and is held in the passageway by curled members. In a second embodiment, the attaching element is designed for use in non-pierced ears and has a U-shaped brace connected at one end to the first support and has at its other end a clamping plate which receives therethrough a threaded pin of the second support. The dangles supported by the first and second supports are independently floating and are located on opposite sides of the ear lobe.
