Patent number: 9289035Abstract: In an embodiment of the disclosed technology, a bracelet is generally formed of a circular wire band that is elastically deformable. That is, at least a portion of the band is bendable by a user such that the band returns to its original form when released by the user. The bracelet has a “clasp” portion, which is a hollow tubular member, affixed to one end of the band. Another end of the band forms a bend for retaining the end of the band inside the hollow tubular member. The hollow tubular member has a portal at one end for receiving the bend. The portion of the band near the bend is deflected slightly to enable passage through the portal of the bend. Upon passage through the portal, the bend releasably fastens the two ends of the band to one another.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2013Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: OORI Trading, Inc.Inventor: Gwi Yon Kim

Patent number: 8497838Abstract: A computing system translates a world space position of a hand of a human target to a screen space cursor position of a user interface. When the cursor overlaps a button in the user interface, the computing system actuates the button in response to a movement of the hand in world space that changes the cursor position by a depth threshold along a z-axis regardless of an initial z-axis position of the cursor. When the button includes an activation lock, the computing system unlocks the activation lock, prior to button actuation, if the cursor path satisfies unlocking criteria.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2011Date of Patent: July 30, 2013Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Adam Jethro Langridge

Publication number: 20130111952Abstract: Rings having variable sized annular openings and methods for making and using such rings are disclosed. A ring is disclosed that includes a ring shank having inner and outer circumferential surfaces, where the inner circumferential surface defines a maximum circumference of an annular opening of the ring shank, and a clasp that includes a first end portion hingedly connected to the ring shank and a second end portion. The clasp is rotatable between a secured position in which the second end portion is securably engaged with the ring shank and a plurality of unsecured positions. The clasp may include an arcuate portion and at least one protrusion that narrows a cross-sectional area of the annular opening when the second end portion is securably engaged to the ring shank.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2011Publication date: May 9, 2013Inventor: Jong Dae Ra

Patent number: 7225639Abstract: An expandable jewelry ring. The ring has a split circular spring made of springy metal and having first and second ends separated by a gap. A tongue portion extends from the first end of the spring and into the gap. A mounting is made of metal and has a generally split circular shape with first and second ends separated by a gap and having a spring channel formed therein. The spring channel has a first portion and a second portion. The spring is positioned in the first portion of the spring channel, with the tongue portion being slideably moveable in the second portion of the spring channel. When pressure from a wearer's finger is exerted on the inside of the mounting, it will expand the effective size of the ring, and when pressure is relieved, the ring will spring back to its original size.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2002Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Kobi Katz Inc.Inventor: Callegher Flaviano

Patent number: 5748571Abstract: A plastic top shell for use on a metallic top link of an expansible watch band, the top link having a hollow box-like configuration with open ends and with top and bottom walls joined by side walls. The plastic top shell comprises a molded body having a top surface and a bottom surface with end tabs protruding downwardly therefrom. The bottom surface has coplanar end portions adjacent to the ends tabs, with the top and bottom surfaces defining a thickness therebetween which is greater than the thickness of the end tabs. The body is configured and dimensioned to overlie the top wall of the top link, with the end tabs being bendable around the open ends of the top link to thereby firmly seat the coplanar end portions of the molded body's surface against the top link wall.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1992Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: Textron Inc.Inventor: Werner Jackl

Patent number: 5623838Abstract: An adjustable link (1) for a bracelet having a plurality of fixed links comprises a cap (6) into which a base (7) slides and a mechanism (8) with push-pieces (9, 10) which enables the length of the link to be extended to at least two different lengths so as to enable the length of the bracelet to be adapted to the variations in diameter of the wrist wearing it. The link may be incorporated in a bracelet carrying a watch.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1996Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: SMH Management Services AGInventor: Cyril Cuche
