The fabric is formed with at least 40 weight percent microfiber yarn and the balance conventional non-microfiber yarn which is worn against an individual's body for maximum moisture absorption with the microfilament knit on the face to provide maximum siphon to remove the moisture from a wearer's body. The knit fabric is particularly well suited for athletic wear.

The inventive moldable fabrics and garments provide such desirable spandex properties while also increasing the comfortability to the wearer. Thus, the invented process is both cost effective and minimizes the inefficient use of a heavy weight fabric in regions of the article where exceptional protection is not critical to avoid the accompanying loss of tactile sensitivity and increase in the stiffness and rigidity of the article.

The panty portion provides greater compression than the leg portions. Both the panty and leg portions contain alternating courses of covered spandex yarn and body yarn. The spandex yarns in both the panty and leg portions are covered with bicomponent nylon yarn. The spandex yarn in the panty portion is of a larger denier than the spandex yarn in the leg portions, while the covering yarn on the spandex yarn in the leg portions is of a larger denier than the covering yarn on the spandex yarn in the panty portion. The resulting garment is a pantyhose with a generally uniform opacity throughout the panty and leg portions which nonetheless provides extra support in the panty portion. The invention also finds application in other circular knit garments.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a warp-knit slide fastener in which a fastener element row can be easily knitted into and attached stably and firmly on a fastener tape, and fastener elements of the fastener element row are not separated from each other due to pushing up of a fastener face.The successive fastener element row is knitted, simultaneously with knitting of the fastener tape, into a fastener element attaching portion at longitudinally side edge portion of the fastener tape, and is fixed by two wales or more of fixing chain stitch yarns. Respective needle loops of the respective fixing chain stitch yarns push respective element leg portions of the successive fastener element row from above toward a foundation structure. Respective sinker loop groups form a part of the foundation structure on which the successive fastener element line is disposed. Warp in-laid yarns are warp inserted through at least a part of sinker loops of the sinker loop groups while being intermingled.

C. to 70.degree. C., and stretching at a stretching ratio between 1:3 to 1:10, at a relative humidity of between 45% and 65%. The stretched small foil strips are cooled to room temperature, and processed into a woven or knit web or mesh hose.
