Two-ply Simultaneously Knit Patents (Class 66/22)
  • Publication number: 20120204605
Abstract: The method comprises the phases of: knitting at least one part (5A, 5B) of the body (1) with reciprocating motion of the two cylinders of a double-cylinder machine; -knitting the leg pieces (9A, 9B) with a continuous rotational motion of the two cylinders (11, 13), a first leg piece being knitted by a first of said cylinders and a second leg piece being knitted by a second of said cylinders. It is provided for an arc of needles (C) to be maintained temporarily inactive on each of said two cylinders while knitting said at least one part (5A, 5B) of the body (1) with reciprocating motion. Furthermore, it is provided that the temporarily inactive needles are set to work at the end of the knitting of said at least one part (5A, 5B) of the body (1) with reciprocating motion, thus forming an interknitting line (CC) for joining the two leg pieces (9A, 9B), then continuing the knitting with continuous rotary motion with all the needles (15) of both the cylinders (11, 13).

  • Patent number: 6927182
Abstract: A composite textile fabric for rapidly moving moisture away from the skin is provided. The composite fabric includes an inner fabric layer (the technical back) formed therealong with a plurality of vertical and horizontal channels and made of a yarn comprising a plurality of fibers of polyester or nylon which have been rendered hydrophilic. The fabric also includes an outer fabric layer (the technical face) made of a moisture absorbent material, a yarn comprising a plurality of fibers primarily of polyester of other man-made yarn which has also been rendered hydrophilic, or a combination thereof. The inner fabric layer and the outer fabric layer are formed concurrently by knitting a plaited construction so that the layers are distinct and separate, yet integrated one with the other.

  • Patent number: 6622528
Abstract: This double knit fabric which may be used for sports garments or uniforms, namely sweaters and stockings, may include a repeating pattern of predetermined courses containing wales of consecutive selected groups of tuck and welt stitches to form holes in and throughout the knitted fabric. The pattern may be repeated to provide a fabric with a considerable number of holes aligned in a predetermined geometrical arrangement and a two different colored laminated effect.

  • Patent number: 6526783
Abstract: A double-faced reversible color effect fabric is produced on a double bed weft knitting machine with three yarn feeding systems. The first yarn feeder feeds yarn of a first color for the front of the fabric. The second yarn feeder feeds yarn of a second color for the rear of the fabric. The third yarn feeder, according to the invention, feeds a stretchable yarn which serves as an intermediate to interlock between the stitches formed on the front bed and the stitches formed on the rear bed. According to the presently preferred embodiment, the double-faced reversible color effect fabric is produced with a six step/six course knit and tuck knitting process whereby the produced fabric has no air pockets between fabric layers and has no visible tuck marks or mesh openings. The methods of the invention can be used to form a double-faced fabric with or without a motif.

  • Patent number: 4011738
Abstract: The pant or body portion of a pair of tights or panty hose is produced on a dual-cylinder knitting machine using oscillatory motion of the two cylinders. Subsequently the leg portions of the tights are produced using continuous motion of the two cylinders, one leg portion being formed within the other leg portion.
