  • Patent number: 11885057
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a laundry treatment machine. A laundry treatment machine comprises: an inverter to convert the DC voltage from the converter into alternating current (AC) voltage by a switching operation and to output the converted AC voltage to a motor; and a controller that controls such that, while a washing tub motor is rotating at a constant speed, a drain motor operates in a first period during which the speed of the drain motor increases, a second period during which the speed of the drain motor decreases after the first period, and a third period during which the speed of the drain motor decreases after the second period, wherein a rising slope in the second period is less than a falling slope in the third period. Accordingly, a speed ripple of the drain motor may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8695381
Abstract: Methods and systems that detect high resonance frequencies as a laundering device (e.g., a washer or dryer) is in a spin cycle, and avoids those frequencies, as well as a band around those frequencies (e.g., 75 rpm on either side of the resonant frequency), in subsequent spin cycles, is described. Aspects of the invention also provide for detecting whether the setup of the laundering device has changed (e.g., resulting from a change in physical location or setup), and provides for the recalibration of a resonance frequency or known high vibration speed when a new setup is detected. Aspects of the invention recognize that solutions to minimize vibration are unnecessary. It is not necessary to optimize or minimize vibration in order for a laundry device to work properly, but rather it is sufficient to ensure that the laundry device does not spin the drum at a speed that causes excessive vibration.

The washing/drying machine includes a tank (11) for storing used water, and the water is circulated from the tank (11) for dehumidification of air circulated through a drying air duct (20). Since the water is circulated from the tank (11), a great amount of water can be supplied as dehumidification water for higher dehumidification efficiency. The amount of the circulated water (the amount of cooling water (dehumidification water)) is reduced in a first half of a drying process, and increased in a second half of the drying process. As a result, the drying efficiency is improved during the drying operation, thereby reducing the drying period.

When in the hyperspin mode, the washing machine rotates its washing basket at a higher speed in relation to a traditional spin mode for the washing machine. In order to prevent damage to the washing machine that could result from spinning heavier, unbalanced loads at higher speeds (i.e. hyperspin speeds), a controller detects vibration of the washing machine basket while the items are being spun at a lower speed (i.e. at the speed of the traditional spin mode). Abstract: Disclosed are a method for controlling a driving of a drum type washing machine preventing vibration and noise of a drum, reducing a usage of washing water, and reducing rinse time, and an apparatus thereof. To this end, the drum is rotated with a preset equilibrium speed faster than a speed that vibration of the drum is excessively generated accordingly as a rotation speed of the drum is decreased when a dewatering process of laundry is completed, and washing water is supplied into the drum type washing machine while maintaining the drum as the preset equilibrium speed.

Abstract: A washing machine control method and a washing machine using the same are provided, by which the performance of a dewatering step is unimpeded and vibration and noise are prevented. The method includes steps of executing a dewatering step; accelerating a motor to rotate a drum, according to a predetermined rate, in response to the dewatering execution step; detecting, if the predetermined rate exceeds a first value but is less than a second value, whether a state of vibration exists with respect to the drum rotated according to the predetermined rate; and stopping the motor if the detected state of vibration exists. The method preferably includes steps of detecting an eccentricity value with respect to the drum rotated according to the predetermined rate; and comparing the detected eccentricity value to a reference eccentricity value stored in a lookup table.

  • Patent number: 6691359
Abstract: A washing machine and a method of controlling the same by braking a spin-drying tub after interrupting the power of a motor for the spin-drying tub is disclosed. The washing machine comprises a mode selection unit for selecting a spin-drying mode, and a spin-drying timer for selecting a spin-drying time. The spin-drying timer includes a spin-drying switch and a motor control switch each having a different operation time. When the spin-drying mode is selected by the mode selection unit, the spin-drying switch of the spin-drying timer is connected to the solenoid of a drain motor and the motor control switch is connected to a motor driving circuit via a starting switch of the drain motor. As the motor control switch is turned off (the spin-drying switch is turned on) at a time earlier than a selected spin-drying time to interrupt power for the motor, the rotation speed of the spin-drying tub is reduced.
