Skein Supporting Sticks Patents (Class 68/188)
  • Patent number: 9668538
Abstract: A method and apparatus for coloring an article includes fastening an article to a container which at least partially encloses the article. The article fastens to the container in a fixed position. A portion of the container is inserted into a liquid by an actuator. The liquid enters the container through an open end. An air pocket is created in the container when it is inserted into the liquid. A first portion of the article is contained within the air pocket and a second portion of the article is dipped into the liquid and thereby is colored from a dye in the liquid. The actuator also removes the container and the article from the liquid. The process can be repeated with the article in an inverted position and with another liquid to color another portion of the article a second color.

  • Patent number: 4184348
Abstract: Randomly dyed skeins of yarn are produced in an apparatus which comprises an open vat adapted to be filled with a liquid dye bath and having rack means for supporting a plurality of skeins of yarn which are to be randomly dyed. The rack means includes valved conduits to control the flow of dye therethrough. Further valve means are provided for selectively adjusting the level of the liquid dye bath relative to the skeins supported in the dye bath while maintaining the liquor ratio, i.e., the ratio of liquid dye bath to yarn dyed, constant and as low as practical.

  • Patent number: 3986375
Abstract: An apparatus for producing randomly or space dyed skeins of yarn and which comprises an open vat adapted to be filled with a liquid dye bath, a rack for supporting a plurality of skeins, and means for selectively lifting the rack such that the rack and skeins may be translated between a fully lowered position in the dye bath and a plurality of raised positions.
