The opposing arms articulate relative to each other about the hinge. A handle portion at the proximal ends of the opposing arms has an open and closed position for articulating the distal ends open and closed. Distal ends are configured with plural pincers whereby jaws are formed between the plural pincers for grasping and holding multiple objects at the same time.

    Abstract: A cutting tool having first and second lever arms with a cutting end and a handle end. A first insert and a second insert are connected to the cutting ends of each of the lever arms. The inserts are removable from the cutting ends of the lever arms, and each of the inserts include multiple cutting edges. When the inserts are connected to the cutting ends of the lever arms and the user pulls the handle ends towards each other, the cutting ends also move toward each other. As the cutting ends move toward each other, the inserts act cooperatively to sever materials located therebetween. When one of the cutting edges of an insert becomes dulled or damaged, the user removes the insert from the cutting end of the lever arm and repositions the insert on the cutting end such that a different cutting edge is revealed for severing materials.

    Abstract: A composite pliers has crossed levers, each including a non-metallic body with an exposed metal cutter blade. The pliers includes strengthening and/or retaining structure around a pivot joint which does not extend into handle portions of the levers. This structure strengthens the pivot joint and can help confine the pliers parts in the event of failure. In one embodiment, each lever has a pivot joint strengthening structure insert molded therein, the structure extending into a jaw portion of each lever and protruding from the non-metallic body to form a workpiece engagement surface, such as a cutting blade. In one form, the jaws have more than one row of teeth with adjacent rows offset from each other. When the pliers is assembled from two identical lever members, each row of teeth on one lever will face the offset row of teeth on the other lever so that the peaks of the teeth on one lever fall within the grooves between the teeth on the opposing row.

Such a configuration provides an equally distributed gripping force for an entire range of wires without causing any nicks and scrapes on the wire. The fishing tool comprises two normally spaced-apart hand grips that are attached to a common flexure assembly. One of the hand grips contains a storage compartment that is normally enclosed by an outer cover of the hand grip. The second hand grip contains a file that can be extended through an opening in the butt end of the hand grip for the actuation of a lever normally seated in a slot in the base of the hand grip. A pin for cleaning the eyelet of flies and hooks is mounted to the frame of the tool.

    Abstract: A multipurpose hand tool for tying certain types of knots in fishing line includes an elongate finger which is tapered from a thick base toward a very small tip. The elongate finger includes two mating halves, each mounted on one of a pair of pivotably interconnected handles. Cavities are provided in the mating opposed faces of the mating halves of the elongate finger to hold the eye portion of a fishhook in order to tighten it by moving the two halves of the elongate finger toward one another. A line cutter included in the tool comprises a pair of opposed sharp edges located on the extreme side portion of each of the handles, permitting a line to be clipped close to a knot.
