Abstract: A handle assembly of thin type permits through a computerized personal management system a plurality of persons to have easily access to instruments in a box with the handle assembly in which: a combination lock (6), opened by turning each of its dial discs (4) a given number of times to establish a combination of marks of the discs, is incorporated in a handle (2) and disposed adjacent to a cylinder lock (2) in the handle; and, a plate (11), interlocked with a rotor (8) of the lock (2), engages with a shoulder (15) of a lever (16) pivoted to a body (1), so that the handle is held in its folded position. When the lock (6) is held in its unlocked condition and the handle (2) is pulled, the lever (16) is swung upward by the plate (11) to release the handle (2) from the body (1).

  • Patent number: 6513354
Abstract: A latch mechanism which includes two paddles that are engaged by a lock plate. The lock plate is configured to swivel into engagement with lock portions of the paddles, thereby generally locking the paddles in place. Preferably, the lock plate engages a substantial width of the lock portions to avoid creating an undesirable asymmetrical loading condition. As a result of engaging a substantial width of the lock portions of the paddles, the locking of the paddles is robust and reliable. Preferably, the lock portions on the paddles include a retention ramp that engages corresponding structure on the lock plate. The retention ramp renders the engagement between the lock plate and paddles generally more effective.

  • Patent number: 6513353
Abstract: A flush mountable operating assembly has paddle-type handle nested in a housing-defined recess for pivoting between non-operated and operated positions. An operating linkage for drivingly connecting the paddle handle to one or a plurality of adjacent or remotely located latch assemblies includes overlying first and second arm that are connected to the housing for pivotal movement about a common pivot axis. A lock cylinder is carried by the housing and is coupled to a connecting element for positioning the connecting element at selected locations along the lengths of aligned slots that are formed through the first and second arms. The position of the connecting element in the slots, and the configuration and orientation of the slots determine whether the arms are drivingly connected or disconnected. When connected, the arms pivot in the unison when the handle is moved to its operated position to cause the latch operation.

Abstract: A pop-up handle assembly includes a planar mounting panel which may be integral with a housing. The assembly also includes dual longitudinal bores generally parallel to one another and offset from each other. A handle that rotationally drives an interconnected shaft is carried by one of the bores to operate between locked and open positions. When in locked position, the handle is prevented from being rotated. When in open position, the handle extends outwardly from the housing and can rotate approximately 90 degrees to thereby drivingly rotate the shaft, which allows access to an enclosed space. A lock cylinder is carried by the other bore and rotates therein between locked and unlocked positions. When in locked position, the cylinder is not depressible. When in the unlocked position, the cylinder functions as a depressible push button which engages a retainer member to release the handle from locked position.

Abstract: A rotary latch system where a rotary latch has a trip pawl and a latch jaw which engages a striker. When a T-handle is turned, rotation is translated via a rotating member to an actuating lever. Movement of the lever triggers the pawl which releases the latch jaw. Linkages to other latches can be easily made by connecting to pins upon the rotating member. The latch can then act as a master latch which operates a group of latches. T-handle is spring biased to return to its starting position on release. Abstract: Snack and drink dispensers include a lockable pivoting door that provides access to the interior for refilling dispensed items and for retrieving cash collected. A lockable T-handle having key operated locking lugs extending from the T-handle penetrably engage slots in an encircling sleeve to prevent partial withdrawal of the T-handle from a recess in the door and thereby prevent rotation of the T-handle to unlock the door. Inserts of steel or the like are located in the opposed arms of the T-handle to prevent destruction of the locking lugs by drilling through the arms into contact with the locking lugs.

Abstract: A closing device for doors of cases or cabinets preferably constructed out of thin wall material such as sheet metal and especially to the operation of catching systems, such as closing bars, which are mountable in the canted area of sheet metal cabinet doors. The closing device is comprised of a door plate having two door plate areas, whereby a first longitudinally extended door plate area has a turning handle for operating and a drift pinion which is rotationally mounted. The second door plate area has a push plate which is mounted in a slidable manner. The push plate interacts with the drift pinion and the catching system via a catch. The catch reaches through one of the slots in the door covered by the second door plate area.

  • Patent number: 6318135
Abstract: A tailgate locking assembly (10) designed to be attached to a tailgate latching mechanism (92) that operates a truck tailgate (90). The mechanism (92) includes a pull-handle (96) which controls the position of a pair of lever arms (98) connected to a pair of respective latching rods (100). The rods are normally spring-biased in an outward direction which maintains the tailgate (90) in a latched configuration. When the pull-handle (96) is pulled back, the latching rods (100) move inward which unlatches and allows the tailgate (90) to be lowered. The tailgate locking assembly (10) includes a bracket (12) that attaches to the mechanism (92) and that incorporates a locking arm (56) that can be placed in a first position (44) or a second position (46) by means of a key lock (30). When the arm (56) is in the first position (44) it is located against one of the lever arms (98) preventing the pull-handle (96) from releasing the latching rods (100).

Abstract: A latch system for a closure element that is slidable relative to a mounting frame between first and second positions. The mounting frame has a strike element to be engaged to releasably maintain the closure element in a first position. The latch system has a first frame part, a first handle that is mounted to the first frame part for movement between first and second positions, and a first latch assembly having a latched state and a released state. The first latch assembly in the latched state is capable of cooperating with the strike element to selectively prevent the closure element from moving from the first position for the closure element into the second position for the closure element. The first latch assembly in the released state permits the closure element to move from the second position for the closure element into the first position for the closure element and from the first position for the closure element into the second position for the closure element.

  • Patent number: 6209366
Abstract: A tailgate locking device includes a bezel used in place of the conventional bezel to surround a tailgate handle aperture. When a key-operated lock is rotated to a locked position, it moves a locking arm into position in front of a handle arm thereby preventing an interloper from actuating the handle to open the tailgate. Preferably the key-lock rotation also moves one or more retention bolts into positions behind the exterior panel of the tailgate to prevent removal of the locking device. Rotation of the lock to its unlocked position frees the tailgate handle and retracts the retention bolts.
