Combination Lock Patents (Class 70/219)
  • Patent number: 10822834
Abstract: The present invention, in a non-limiting example embodiment provides a locking apparatus and method for securing locking hardware without the use of a key. In an example embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least a keyless insertion rotatable disk-style, barrel locking apparatus that, in a locked state can be inserted into a securing device without first unlocking, and then, thereafter, locking after insertion. In a nonlimiting example embodiment, unlocking and re-locking requires a key. The present invention, in an example embodiment, also provides features that allow the locking apparatus to enter and exit multiple apertures without requiring a key.

  • Patent number: 6694786
Abstract: In the handle assembly, a combination lock (6) is opened by turning each dial discs (4) a given number of times to establish a combination of marks on the discs, and is incorporated in a handle (2) and disposed adjacent to a cylinder lock (13) in the handle. A receiver lever (16) pivoted on a base body (1), is controlled by a lock plate (5). A stopping plate (11), interlocked with a rotor (8) of the cylinder lock (13), engages receiver lever (16) pivoted to the base body (1), so that the handle (2) is held in its folded position. When the combination lock (6) is in its unlocked condition and the handle (2) is pulled, the receiver lever (16) is swung upward by the stopping plate (11) to release handle (2) from the base body (1). A plurality of slots (68) are formed on a bottom surface of a dent portion (100) of the handle (2).

  • Patent number: 6513356
Abstract: A dual mechanism lock; a combination lock structure is embedded into a external cylinder by a flexibly moving fixing plate; a combination wheel mechanism comprising a plurality of combination wheels and a latching wheel; the latching wheel can be embedded into the fixing plate; the other end of the fixing plate is coupled to an elastic member at the top portion in the lock body; the lock body is coupled to an external cylinder by the coupling base; an internal cylinder is sheathed into the external cylinder; the internal cylinder includes a lock core, such that the outer end of the external cylinder is a knob; a lock tongue is disposed at the inner end of the external cylinder; the key or the combination lock can produce coupling and detachment for the external cylinder through the lock core of the internal cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4967305
Abstract: Electronic door lock system for use with a door mounted in a door frame and has a dead bolt and a latch mounted on the door. A control unit is mounted on the door in the vicinity of the dead bolt and the latch and includes a battery and electronic circuitry connected to the battery and manually operable contacts for selectively operating the dead bolt and the latch so that they can be moved to unlatched positions under the control of first and second hand-operated members.

  • Patent number: 4881390
Abstract: A door handle is mounted on a door by bolts, the handle incorporates a combination lock comprising a shaft, a plurality of discs mounted coaxially on the shaft for individual rotation thereon, each disc having a first internal annual surface formed with a depression. The depression of at least one disc defining an abutment edge, a latch member mounted between the shaft and the annular surface and extending parallel to the shaft biasing means urging the latch member into engagement with the first annular surface, the discs being rotatable on the shaft without turning the shaft, except when all the depressions are aligned with the latch member, so that the latch member in its latched position extending into the depressions rotating in one direction of the disc or discs having an abutment surface causes the abutment surface to engage the latch member and turn the shaft. • Patent number: 4422312
Abstract: A lock assembly incorporating an exterior knob assembly which is axially movable into engagement with a latchbolt. The knob assembly includes a shaft having a circumferential groove into which a plurality of locking pins extend. The position of the locking pins is controlled by means of a number of combination knobs, and normally one or more of the locking pins is positioned within the circumferential groove to prevent axial movement of the exterior knob assembly. When the proper combination is chosen, the locking pins will be out of engagement with the groove, thereby allowing the exterior knob assembly to be moved into engagement with the latchbolt. The latch bolt can also be actuated by means of an interior knob assembly. The interior knob assembly is movable into a position which prevents engagement of the exterior knob assembly with the latchbolt despite the fact that the locking pins are all retracted from the circumferential groove.

  • Patent number: 4411144
Abstract: An electronic lock system senses codes on a key by means of opto-electronic, magnetic or other electrical means and compares the key code to a code stored internally in a memory. When the key code is equal to its respective stored code the lock activates an electrical clutch operated bolt, and may also change the internal code to a new code. This invention relates to electronic locks, and is more particularly directed to the provision of an electronic lock which can be operated by a key having a code in the form of an electric parameter or optical parameter thereon.
