Remote Control Patents (Class 70/256)
  • Patent number: 11731585
Abstract: Systems and methods for cloud-based keyless entry are generally described. In some examples, a first number is received from a vehicle. A first computing device of the vehicle may be configured to control an electronic door lock. A first unlock code may be generated using the first number. In some examples, a notification is sent to a remote entry device associated with the vehicle. A response to the notification may be received from the remote entry device. In some examples, the first number may be retrieved from a messaging service based at least in part on the receiving the response to the notification. A second unlock code may be generated using the first number. A determination may be made that the first unlock code matches the second unlock code. An instruction may be sent to the first computing device, the instruction effective to cause unlock of the electronic door lock.

  • Patent number: 7224259
Abstract: A system for unlocking a key cylinderless automobile vehicle door includes a portable object having an identifier and a circuit for interrogating the object. The circuit powers the object and interrogates the object when it is outside the vehicle. The interrogating circuit supplies a signal authorizing unlocking of the door as a function of the identifier. A standby power supply, which is separate from the main power supply of the vehicle, also powers the circuit and the object. As a result, the vehicle door does not require a key cylinder while still ensuring unlocking even if the main power supply of the vehicle fails.

Abstract: An apparatus which inhibits the theft of equipment such as personal computers is disclosed. The equipment must have an external wall provided with a specially designed, approximately rectangular slot having preselected dimensions. An attachment mechanism includes a housing for a spindle having a first portion rotatable within the housing, a shaft extending outwardly from the housing, and a crossmember at the end of the shaft having peripheral dimensions closely conforming to the internal dimensions of the slot. An abutment mechanism also emanates from the housing, and is located on opposite sides of the shaft intermediate the housing and the crossmember. The peripheral cross-sectional dimensions of the abutment mechanism and the shaft in combination closely conform to the dimensions of the slot. The length of the shaft from the housing to the crossmember is approximately equal to the thickness of the external wall of equipment.

Abstract: This invention relates to a security system aimed at closing and locking a cover of an opening of a tank trailer to avoid any tampering of its content and to prove that the content of the tank has not been tampered. The security system comprises a locking member movable between a lock position to prevent the opening of the cover, and an unlock position to allow the opening of the cover. The invention also comprises an actuating device mounted to the tank trailer operatively connected to the locking member for moving it between the lock and the unlock positions. A sealing mechanism engages the actuating device when the locking member is in the lock position to prevent any movement of the locking member. The sealing mechanism comprises a breakable indicator which is broken upon disengagement from the actuating device, thereby indicating that the openable cover has been tampered with.

  • Patent number: 7029039
Abstract: According to the inventive method, a pawl which in a normal mode of operation is rotatably mounted about a point of rotation when it is in a closed position can be rotated by means of a first actuator, which is controlled by a main power supply and by means of a toothed gearwheel segment which is also rotatably mounted about said point of rotation and which can run freely in relation to the pawl, until an open position is obtained. In the event of an emergency, the pawl can be rotated by means of a second self-inhibiting actuator, which is controlled by the emergency power supply, by means of another rotatably mounted toothed gearwheel segment which comprises a toothed gearwheel having a smaller diameter and which engages with the toothed wheel segment, until an open position is obtained. The emergency power supply is then interrupted and the pawl is maintained in an open position.
